A question about boot enchants..

I am using flame totem build, and i got the 2 % life regen on my boots when i get hit..
Which is almost always.. +2% life regen.. I am wondering isn't this better than 10% elemental penetration vs boses? 10% elem pen ,when havent killed recently.. How much is exactly 10% elemental dmg pen? 10% more dps? |

if u deal 100% fire dmg then 10% pene is 10% more dmg yeah :P

The more resistance the target has the better penetration is.
If they have 0% resist and you take it to -10% your damage went from 100% to 110%. So that is a 10% increase in damage dealt. But if they have 75% resist and you take it to 65% your damage went from 25% to 35%. That is an increase of 40% in damage dealt. To take it to an extreme, if a target had 99% resistance you'd only deal 1% of your damage. But if you reduced their resistance to 89% you'd deal 11x more damage with the penetration than without. When I kill a man he stays dead.
