Blade Vrotex and Critical Strike Chance?

Hello.
I've made a Blade Vortex build and i got some Critical Strike Chance nodes and Critical Strike Chance gear aswell so that the Blade Vortex will crit. However now i'm starting to worry and wonder... does Blade Vortex even benefit from Critical Strike Chance nodes or on gear or at all? It says it is a spell and i'm not sure if 'crit chance' benefits spells, however it's also physical damage and it hits enemies around me so i'm a little confused. Thanks. The damage type of a Spell has no bearing on its basic functionality :)
It's a Spell, it works like any other Spell does. Global Crit Chance applies, Spell Crit applies, Crit with [weapon] does not. You might have Controlled Destruction linked, which negates the first 100% Increased Crit Chance you're picking up; a lot of people have made threads about "Crit Chance not working" due to Controlled Destruction, hence this comment :> |

Critical strike chance with attacks/weapons affect attack skills
Critical strike chance with spell affect spells General critical strike chance affect both Implicit critical chance, say on a dagger affects only attack skills with that dagger, while global critical chance (on the same dagger) will affect both spells and attacks. Blade Vortex is a spell, so general crit chance/multi and spell crit chance/multi will affect it. If you open up you character tab ("c" on keyboard), and click the spell on the row with skills, you can see the spells chance to crit there. The plan is simple: win! If you do not win, you did not follow the plan
