Voll was nearly indestructible!!!

So Voll spawned with 2 Rare monsters. One with allies cannot die, and one with allies regenerate health. I did ok, but that fight took FOREVER. Normal Act 4, not the maps version.

I was decently equipped, and slightly over level.

Is there some kind of weighted algorithm that is supposed to prevent such things? If not, maybe there should be?

This is the first "problem" I have had since i started playing, and Nightmare Piety wiped me out. I have since learned to build better characters, and adapted to POE's play style. (came from D3)

Loving the HELL out of this game. No complaints, and the new 10 Act system is awesome, I hated the rinse/repeat of normal-cruel-merciless.

Sometimes you get very dangerous combinations, yes. Multiple tormented spirits that possess certain bosses can also be quite rippy sometimes.
On the other side of the spectrum, I was running normal Lab and encountered a darkshrine that gave me "cannot be damaged." Which is awesome, but also trivialized the Lab. I literally just stood in traps laughing. I found a second darkshrine, but didn't dare to click it. I don't know if you can have 2 at a time, so i didn't risk it.
One of the main reasons I love PoE is that these things can happen and you never know what to excpect :) It's just the matter of "stars aligning" and you get crazy mod combinations and challenges!
Nothing to prevent it, but there is a skill that cuts off 75% regen: Frost Bomb

I've had to use it several times against multi-Essence mobs.

U think that's tough.

Imagine opening a Unique strongbox and out pops a ghost maiden ship which starts nuking ur ass, then u realise u are doing no damage at all cause Rare 1 regens her life, and rare 2 provides all resistances.
