Why I'm done with this game (at least for now)

First you say its not different.

Now its different in many ways, but still my difference is "wrong".

Oh well, I don't think we have much to debate (:

Anyway my whole point is: Having true uniques (as in only items of their kind), is a great thing and makes sure theres always something out there to find.

Apparently you disagree and would prefer to play a game where theres no such items, lucky you theres 99999 (maybe more) of those games out there and theres many who think like you.

I'm not so lucky but I'm at least happy with items in this one game with a few people who think the same, thats about enough (:

I do think that the whetstone and blacksmithing recipe should be reduced to 20% total quality, and make higher rolling base quality items rarer. I love the selling method in this game but it takes up WAYYYY too much space.

20% as reachable with only one item would be too less, maybe 30% serve better? (could summed from 2 higher items (~15%) or 3 at least; should be ok)

Can I just say that currently right now a single piece of white armor or weapon with +20% quality will get you a scrap or whetstone, respectively.

Yeah. There are differences, but there are also similarities. Is that confusing for you?

What you fail to understand that the aspect of "top items" that everyone eventaully have is the same in this game as in d2 and in MMOs.

Not really, at least not right now. In d2 everyone used the same gear because of extremely powerful uniques and runewords. In poe there are no runewords and the "end game" uniques are much weaker than in d2 and often worse than top tier rares. So with the current items everyone will use rares that while sometimes similar will always be slightly different from what other people use.

Well, I think it's safe to assume that there will be end game uniques.

The difference between really good rares is not that big.
Remember that endgame gear in d2 also had some random variables.

Okay, then I don't see what youre trying to say - if this game is already the same and you don't want to make items more random...either way youre proving yourself wrong.

If you say everyones going to use the same stuff already, then WHY you are in this topic demanding it to become even easier? (=

No, its not safe (= GGG have made it pretty clear what theyre doing with uniques - if you followed the Dev Diaries and other info - uniques are going to be kind of a utility items, giving some special attributes not available on rares, while being otherwise weaker. Thats what you already see in the game.
mirror is what will turn it into d2, with the same mechanic even lol.

player A finds "Cruel Harp Storm Bow" 212%ed +28 phy +xxias

now mirror = cruel harp storm bow for rangers on the server. much like creating a unique feel but with odds of it being rolled/found, it always having a chance to get 1up'd, and mirror being fairly rare also.

works the same with every slot. "pain shelter chaos plate" 6 linked 130% armor , 84 hp , 20% quant, 32% rarity. etc etc etc now mara/templars goal for chest is mirror.

im kinda 50/50 on mirror being in the game. its much easier to get a mirror than it is a truely "godly" item. im not sure if that takes away from the godly item or if its a plus for other people being able to play with it. thats the only reason i can think of for mirrors drop rate to be this low. to provide a way for multiple people to play with the godly bis rare items w/o making bis uniques.

either way im guessing staleness will be regulated with semi regular ladder resets.
IGN: @Chopatron
Yea I find mirror to be too cheesy, I'm strongly against it, at least it should make no more than 1 copy. Theres always a hope it will change untill release though.

I don't remember where but I've heard someone say that it's max 1 copy already. Don't know if it's true but if it is then the situation chop is describing won't really happen.
Feedback from someone who has played Diablo, Diablo 2, TQ:IT, Torchlight, AO, WoW, CoH, SWTOR, and probably 20 other games I can't remember to list. Calling something an "mmo" or "aprg" as if it makes some kind of difference in how mechanics might work isn't really relevant to what really matters - FUN.

* This game has a fun and inventive crafting mechanic. Gear progression takes the place of character progression at max level. It is boring to not progress your character, and post max level that means gear must progress, or some sort of other advancement system needs implemented.

* Currently there are no boss runs. Bosses drop like crap. Neither of those are really fun to me.

* Mirror of Kalendra is a bad idea.

* Don't assume because it came from an MMO it must be bad. MMOs contain a ton of great ideas that could be seamlessly implemented in a game like PoE.

* The recipe system in this game cries out for some sort of marketplace or auction house.
