Not loading Character Selection

I haven't played in a while. I opened the launcher it did all the updates then I launched the game and I just sit on the boat in the rain and nothing else ever loads up.

Because it has been a while since you've played, there could be an update that didn't get merged properly (ie: skipping many updates, so updating to the latest from an older client). I'd perform a pack check on your client. Guide: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/18531.

If that doesn't help, you can always try wiping the client by doing an uninstall and deleting any folders left behind in both the installation location and the %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile folder. Then download a fresh copy and install.

Okay I tried both things, The pack check said noting was missing so I uninstalled and deleted everything and I sill load in on the GtG load screen then I sit on the boat bobbing up in down in the rain staring off at rocks right in front of me and the sun filtering through the bottom of some clouds over some mountains way off in the distance but nothing else, i.e. no character selection

Okay I've done a complete wipe and reinstall 3 times with no changes and the pack check always says nothing is wrong.

I think upon further review that the screen for my login info is not visible and all I see is the Rainy boat. I can click on in the lower middle of the screen and in opens a hyperlink to https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1897612?utm_source=gameclient&utm_medium=motd&utm_campaign=motd

but I don't see anything on the screen other than the bobbing boat, rain and all the stuff past the boat, no overlaying box to type in any login info.

I've just started having the exact same problem. I played a couple days ago without any problems, but now i can't play.
