Need input for Sunder

Hi,

after getting annoyed with Freezing Pulse, I wanted to freshen things up a little and try melee for once.
The skill that got my attention was Sunder.
So I did a bit of theorycrafting.

Basically I have two competing ideas and can't decide between them.
Here is the Breakdown

Idea 1 has:
Mind Over Matter with 1.8k unreserved Mana
One additional Jewel-Socket

Idea 2 has:
Additional Herald of Ash
1k more life
An additional ring slot (No Essence Worm for Hatred)
Small free manapool (from experience this can be annoying if attacking air and then being oom due to no leeach)

I am rather willing trading 800 hp (from the 1800 mana vs 1000 life) for the herald of ash.
However I am afraid of mana leech refreshing too slow with mind over matter and then being oom.
Anyone of you has tried this already?
