Slave Cleave build - help requested

Hello, I'm just recently got into PoE with this legacy league, and I found a couple nice things that gave me an idea, namely the cleave threshold gem, and a Wings of Entropy.


My question is, would a cleave build centered around these two things be viable for "end game" content like high end map clears/boss fights? My biggest concern is clear speed with Cleave, as it seems to be a rather "small" aoe attack with a closer range. i also plan/planning to use Daresso's Defiance w/ CDWT/immortal call for my defense (along side the 100% uptime from the fortify buffed via passive tree) and have Blasphemy support with warlords or vulnerability.


I toyed around in a tree editor and thought this looked solid, but I'm a scrub so idk if it would be worthwhile or not .how does the passive tree look if you guys/gals? i tried looking at some others folks trees using similar stuff, but theirs differed widely from mine, idk if that is just their choice, or there is something im unaware of in passive planning.

If built correctly, Cleave can certainly handle end-game content. However, as you've mentioned, a primary issue with Cleave is its small AoE. I've actually tested Cleave with Overwhelming Odds (its new threshold jewel), but the increased AoE it provides is situational (i.e. won't be of much use if you're attacking a single target that isn't surrounded by its buddies that are instead shooting at you from a distance). Nevertheless, the free Fortify from the jewel still makes it worth the investment.

Daresso's Defiance is a solid choice for a melee build, considering you're planning on using the CWDT + Immortal Call setup with it. Warlord's Mark might be a better option for a curse because you'll gain multiple benefits: Stun, Life/Mana Leech, Endurance Charges, etc. You could also equip other items that benefit from having Endurance Charges (e.g. Surgebinders, Wyrmsign, Veruso's Battering Rams, etc.).

However, Wings of Entropy might be an issue. The item adds flat amounts of fire and chaos damage, which are not scaled by the physical damage nodes you've selected in your tree. The only damage nodes that will influence these amounts are from the Slayer ascendancy. Furthermore, Wings of Entropy has a base crit chance (5.00%, which is a small amount), so, unless you're just using critical hits to trigger something else, scaling critical chance might not be as viable in this case.

In regards to the tree, it's decent, but it can be improved. Definitely allocate points into "Vitality Void" and "Hematophagy" - since you're already scaling Life Leech from Warlord's Mark and the Slayer's ascendancy skills, it's certainly advisable. Also, allocate a point into "Vigour" for an extra Endurance Charge, as well as the jewel socket near the cluster of resistance nodes you've allocated (since jewels are extremely versatile).

Question: What are the other gems and gear you plan on using?
