when is a jewel socket worth the passive points?

Yeah I realized the double-dip thing and gave up on it. My goal is to eventually beat endgame content with a cheap build. It's a bit of a challenge thing. As for how my challenge works, any currency built up from a normal run through the game is fair game to me. Like, 4-6 ex maybe? No excessive grinding in other words. Mind you I've not even touched mid-tier maps yet, so I don't know anything really. But looking up builds seems like defeat. Kills the fun in D3 for me.

As a side-note, one thing I can't stand after all these chars I've rolled is the grind leading up to the endgame. Hopefully Oriath sorts this out to some extent, and I figure out how to grind more quickly as I play more, I suppose. It's kind of sad to me, that such a stigma was built up against stat resets, but alas.

Edited my post above. Meant stat resets at the bottom not rerolls. Made my post incomprehensible lol.

What do you consider endgame content? GGG considers any Map endgame content, so you are beating endgame content if you can clear a Tier 1 Map ;)

If you mean Shaper + Uber Atziri + 4-key Uber Lab runs, not all builds can do that on a budget. I personally don't set my goals that high; Shaper and Uber Atziri are like the Omega Weapons or Yiazmats of this game in my mind, if you've played any Final Fantasy.

I see, yeah I get the comparison. Well then I shall adjust my goal.
