INTRODUCTIONS


This is very detailed guide to Golemancy and Necromancer class in general. It will try to explain all gameplay mechanics easily and understandably so that build can be easily customized to readers own taste.

Necromancer is one of the hardest but most rewarding classes to play with and has multiple ways to balance between damage, survival and party support role.

PURE LIFE OR HYBRID?


Minions nodes and lots of jewel sockets are focused on area that has less HitPoint (HP) than Energy Shield (ES) nodes around it.

Also much of the gear that summoners usually want to use are ES based. When going hybrid EHP (Effective Hip Points, HP + ES) can be boosted by both, HP and ES from items equipped. This results in more total EHP than with going for only HP or ES. Having high EHP total usually gives enough buffer to take one big hit from boss and move to better location before next hit comes.

Life based summoner builds of course work, but they are better using Summon Raging Spirits as their main skill. Stacking life means usually also stacking strength and then "The Baron" is best item to boost minions physical damage.



SURVIVING CHAOS DAMAGE

Stacking Chaos resistance on hybrid build is extremely important as Chaos damage will bypass Energy Shield and hit lower life part directly. Build can get it from several sources :
  • Purity of Flesh = +20% chaos resistance
  • Rare amulet/Presence Of Chayula = +20-60% chaos resistance
  • Rare belt = +20-30% chaos resistance
  • Rare rings = +20-30% chaos resistance


If build reaches +20% Chaos resistance, its acceptable as safe with 2000-2500 HP buffer. When looking for rare items, always try to find ones which have even some chaos resistance in them.




ITEM

REQUIRED GEAR

Anima Stone



Anima Stone gives 2x extra Golems :
  • Plus 1 Golem by being socketed itself
  • Plus 1 Golem if you have 3x other "Primordial" Jewels socketed. This only happens for first 3x "Primordial" Jewels

Important

Anima Stone can be bought by selling to vendor :

  • 1x Primordial Might
  • 1x Primordial Harmony
  • 1x Primordial Eminence

So don't buy overpriced Anima Stone from trade.



Primordial Might



Primordial Might changes Golems behavior to be more aggressive and they will attack enemies farther from you. This increases clear speed and survivability.

The damage boost after summoning Golems is not very useful, but the increased life line is good.



Primordial Harmonies



Primordial Harmonies are best "Primordial" Jewels to stack for extra Golem from Anime Stone. More should be used later, but they wont gives extra Golems anymore.

First line affects only how often the Golems themselves can be resummoned by player, so it's not very important.

Second line lowers Golems internal skills cooldown. Golems "Magma Ball" skill has 6 second cooldown and 5-6x Harmonies with 40-45% "Golems have increased Cooldown Recovery Speed" lower the cooldown to around 2 second which is the length of casting animation needed for Golems to complete casting their orbs. This lets Golems cast new orb as soon as earlier cast is finished, and is perhaps most important line when choosing Harmonies. 40-45% values are optimal for endgame.

Third line increase Golems damage by up to 20% per Harmony. Very useful line and 19-20% values are optimal for endgame.

Last line is static and gives Golems 2% regen per second. Stacking above 10% regen per second makes Golems almost immortal.




Clayshaper



Clayshaper is builds main-hand weapon and gives extra Golem.



Shield with block chance applied to spells (Defensive)



Shield will apply block chance to spells and helps surviving boss fights.



Victarios Charity (Offensive)



Victario's Charity gives minions block chance and different kind of charges for damage boost. Leaves Character with lower block chance but boosts minions damage massively.

NECROMANTIC AEGIS AND VICTARIOS CHARITY

Necromantic Aegis

With Necromantic Aegis keystone passive we use the shield, but give its benefits to our minions. So Minions get :

  • 24% Chance to block
  • Elemental and chaos resistances
  • Hitpoints
  • Increased area of effect for their attacks
  • Frenzy and power charges




Power Charges For Minions

Power charges give minions 200% increased critical strike chance per power charge. Minions have maximum of 3 per charge type, so Power charges give them 600% increased critical strike chance in total.



Frenzy Charges For Minions

Frenzy charges give minions :
  • 15% increases Attack & cast Speed
  • 4% more Damage
  • 5% increases Movement Speed

per power charge. Minions have maximum of 3 per charge type, so Frenzy charges give them 45% attack and cast speed, 12% more minion damage and 15% movement speed in total.

Occultist and Elementalist don't have any Ascendancy nodes to boost Specters life, and it's recommended to replace "Burning Damage" with "Minion Life" for Occutist and Elementalist if 3x support helmet is not available

ENCHANTMENTS

Helmet



With "+30% (insert curse name) curse effectiveness" enchantment and level 4 "Enhance" Gem gives insane boost to curses that gain something from quality in them.



Gloves



Any non-enchanted gloves can be enchanted in labyrinth with extra functional line just like boots and helmets. Build uses specific enchantment called "Of Reflection", which summons extra minion when character is dealt damage. The extra minion works as decoy and takes away lot of mobs attention.

The enchantment can be gained from labyrinths and each difficulty gives bit better one.

The levels of Enchantment are :
  • Word of Reflection (Normal)
  • Edict of Reflection (Cruel)
  • Decree of Reflection (Merciless)
  • Commandment of Reflection (Uber)

Better version of enchantment just gives more health for clone, so "Decree of Reflection" should be enough for build.

6 Link Flame Golems

Flame Golem
Golems level increases their damage and life, and is their most important stat




Spell Echo
Golems cast spells twice instead of one time. When you summon Golem, it will summon 2x Golems per cast.




Greater Multiple Projectiles
Golems shoot 5 projectiles instead of 1. Lowers damage per projectile but increases clear speed.




Minion Damage
Golems most important Damage boost. Boosts also Burning damage they do.




Controlled Destruction
Golems deal more damage but do less critical hits. Victario's Charity gives Golems 600% increases critical strike chance so the lost "100% reduced Critical Strike Chance" is not that much.




Empower
Golems get 1 extra level per Empower level, which adds damage and life. Don't use Empower until it is at least level 3. Use "Fire Penetration" Gem until then



ALTERNATIVE FOR EMPOWER WHILE LEVELING


Fire Penetration
As high level "Empower" costs a lot, you can run "Fire Penetration" instead. It gives Golems more damage while penetrating enemies fire resistance.

We use Specters called "Tukohama Vanguards". The Specters are melee type themselves, but cast totems that deal high elemental damage. Boosts Specters damage. Specters are simply applying "burn" as status and not trying to ignite so it works.




Swift Affliction Support
Boosts Specters damage. Gives "more" damage over time modifier to burn.




Minion And Totem Elemental Resistance Support
Gives Specters more resistances and helps to keep them alive. Boosts also their damage.

"Channeling" Spell that casts projectiles with lightning damage. Casts any spell linked to it with "Cast while Channeling" support gem. Gem should be left to level 1 to keep mana cost at minimum.

Storm Burst hits enemies with lightning damage. This will trigger :

Elemental Equilibrium
- "Enemies you hit with Elemental Damage temporarily get +25% Resistance to those Elements and -50% Resistance to other Elements"

Which means that when we hit enemies with lightning damage, enemies get +25% to lightning resistance for next hit we will make to them, but will lose -50% fire and cold resistance for 5 seconds. Our Golems make pure fire damage, so they get free 50% more damage boost for 5 seconds.

Minions DON'T trigger Elemental Equilibrium so the -50% fire resistance will remain for full 5 seconds




Cast While Channeling Support
Will link to Skills that are "Channeled" and will cast all spells linked to the main skill while its channeled.




Desecrate
Creates pile of corpses on the ground. The corpses are used by offering skill linked next on the cast while channeling chain.




Bone Offering
Offering will consume corpses created with "Desecrate" and gives minions high block chance. With Necromancers Ascendancy point called "Mistress Of Sacrifice" taken, offering will affect also you at 50% of the full effect and helps surviving boss damage.

Movement/attack skill that works while shield is equipped. Used to move quickly around the playarea. Gem should be left to level 1 to keep mana cost as low as possible.

  • Silver (Onslaught) flask (20% move / 20% attack)

Convocation
Convocation teleports all minions instantly around you. This gives enemies extra targets and provides meat-shields around you to absorb projectiles. Level should be left to 1 to work with Cast When Damage Taken 1





4 Link Temporal Chains

Socketed : Boots
TEMPORAL CHAINS



Temporal Chains
Curse that makes enemies move and attack / cast slower. Can be boosted to max -75% speed without any curse nodes. MOST IMPORTANT single defense skill so try to raise its effect as soon as possible.




Elemental Weakness
Curse that drops enemies Elemental Resistances. Enemies will take more damage from Elemental spells and attacks.




Blasphemy
Makes "Temporal Chains" and "Elemental Weakness" curses to work as aura surrounding us. Area gets boosted by aura nodes from skill tree and quality gives 10% effectiveness to curse.




Enhance
Increases linked skills (Temporal Chains & Elemental Weakness) quality by 8% per level. Each 8% in quality gives Temporal Chains 4% extra slow and Elemental Weakness effect by 2% lower resistances. at level 5 it gives 32% more quality which adds 16% more effect adding to 56% slow.





When all Gems are placed on "+1 level to socketed gems" corrupted "Bones Of Ullr", they get +1 level so "Enhance" becomes lvl 5. Adding 40% more effectiveness (30% from helmet enchantment / 25% from Occultist Ascendancy and 10% from Blasphemy) we get 56% * 1.4 = 78.4%. Maximum effect without wasting skill points on curse effectiveness.





1 Link Animate Guardian (Linked to Faster Attack and Shield Charge)

ANIMATE GUARDIAN

Animate Guardian
Animate Guardian is minion which can be equipped with player chosen gear. Its main role is not dealing damage, but :
  • Give allies 6% health regen per second
  • Apply second curse (With curse on hit gloves)
  • Hinder enemies (-25% movement speed)
  • Draw aggro from player and Golems

You lose all gear it has if it dies, so to avoid its dying, it should not be used before its level 19-20. Without any defensive support gems, Animate Guardian is in real danger of dying if used too soon or at too high level boss. I recommend testing it's durability slowly once you reach gem level to equip it.

ARMOUR

Zahndethus' Cassock

  • Gives enough chaos resistance to cap Animate Guardians chaos resistance
  • Creates "Consecrated Ground" when Animate Guardians blocks


"Consecrated Ground" is ground effect that heals all nearby allies by 6% of their health per second. Animate Guardian has almost capped attack and spell block, so it will create "Consecrated Ground" all around it to keep minions and you alive.


GLOVES

We are using Animate Guardian to apply second curse called "Elemental Weakness" for us. This is done by taking "Whispers of Doom" skill point to give us ability to apply extra curse to enemies.

After this we can equip Animate Guardian with gloves that have "Curse enemies with level 10-12 Elemental Weakness on hit" corruption on them. When linked with "Melee splash" -Gem, Animate Guardian will apply the curse for multiple enemies at once instead of only 1 target.

"Curse enemies with level 10-12 Elemental Weakness on hit" is made by using Vaal Orb on any non-corrupted gloves and hoping for the line to appear. You can try corrupting it yourself, but chance to succeed is about 1:100 and Vaals Orbs are not very cheap. Its better to buy any gloves with the line from trade for few chaos instead of making them yourself.



Asenath's Gentle Touch

Curses enemies with "Temporal Chains" level 10 on hit. Build is already using much more effective "Temporal Chains" curse, so only useful if no "Curse enemies with level 10-12 Elemental Weakness on hit" gloves can be found or made.



Southbound

If you can move near bosses and make sure that Temporal Chains curse is hitting boss all the time, "Southbound" gloves are good alternative to curse on hit gloves. They give best HP increase to Animate Guardian for all gloves. Try to get as high "Increased maximum life %" roll as possible.

1 HANDED WEAPON

Singularity

Creates aura around Animate Guardian that slows nearby enemies movement speed by 25%. This stacks with "Temporal Chains" curse to slow enemies movement speed to crawl.


SHIELD

  • Gives more chance to block spells
  • Stacks with "Victario's Charity" shields block chance, so Animate Guardian is "using" 2 shields (Only if using "Necromantic Aegis" and giving shield bonuses to minions)






Applying Second Curse With Animate Guardian

Fortify

Alternative gem that can replace Animate Guardian. Place in 3-linked Clayshaper, and it will support "Shield Charge". When you shield Charge towards enemy, it will give you 20% less damage taken from hits buff for 6 seconds.





Discipline

Socketed : Off-hand

Aura that gives extra Energy Shield. Should be as high level as possible for best survivability.



PASSIVES


ALTERNATIVE FINAL TREE AS OCCULTIST

Occultist got changed to also support minions with her nodes now. While not adding direct damage to minions, the nodes are very useful as utility and high level minions deal enough damage even without Necromancer minion damage nodes. Benefits from changing Ascendancy to Occultist are :

Profane Bloom and Malediction side

- 16% increased energy shield
Nice buff to ES
- +25% effectiveness of curses
With inserting 20/20 Temporal Chains, 20/20 Blasphemy and lvl 4 Enhance in "+1 level to Gems" item, effectiveness is enough to reach reach -75% Temporal chains cap without ANY curse effectiveness nodes from tree. No need to farm Lab for helmet enhancement.
- Your curses can apply to hexproof enemies
This stops almost any non-boss pack or enemies being able to kill us when Temporal Chains is at max level and active
- Cursed enemies you or your minions kill have 25% chance to explode, dealing a quarter of their maximum life as chaos damage
Golems have already greatest coverage with huge, overlapping Magma Balls. Now they can start carpet bombing enemies whole pack will be covered with Balls and enemies can explode in one big bang after first of the pack dies. This is Herald for minion.
- Enemies can have 1 additional curse
This saves 3x skill tree nodes as build is running 2x active curse
- Enemies you curse have Malediction
10% less damage taken and minions will do 10% increased damage to enemies. Nice bonus to survival against bosses.

Wicked Ward and Vile Bastion side

- 16% increased energy shield & 30% faster ES recharge rate
Nice buff to ES
- 250 flat ES
Builds default armor "Skin Of The Loyal" has line "100% increased Global Defences". This works with the added ES and increases it even further
- Energy shield recharge is not interrupted by damage if recharge began recently
Massive quality of life node. With faster recharge rate from smaller nodes, this means that ES regens almost as reliably as HP
- 1% of energy shield regenerated per second for each enemy you or your minion has killed recently, up to 30%
This means 10-30% ES regen per second while clearing even as moderate speed. ES will be full almost all time while clearing maps.
- Cannot be stunned while you have energy shield
Presence of Chayula will still probably be the best amulet for the build, but this helps a lot while still saving for it. Now Bisco farmers can run without fear of stun and not taking anti-stun Pahtheon.

Golems damage actually scales more with Primordial Harmonies, than with minion damage from tree. While Necromancers Ascendancy tree gives them roughly 20% more damage, the extra effect from curses with Occultist may easily replace it against non-boss enemies. Build can still run 2-3x Tukohama Vanguard -Specters for extra boss kill damage even if not using Necromancer.

ALTERNATIVE FINAL TREE AS ELEMENTALIST


As Elementalist build can drop quite a bit of Defenses as chance to block is significantly lower than with Necromancers Bone Offering and "Mistress of Sacrifice". Necromantic Aegis is taken to give charge generating for Golems and to be able to use "Shield Charge" as movement skill.

Specters are still used as they are best at boss killing with their massive single target damage. However in helmet we need "Minion Life support" and "Minion Damage Support" as Specters have less life than with Necromancer.

All minion resistance nodes can't be dropped as Animate Guardian would drop below capped, and I dont recommend dropping Animate Guardian since its "6% area health regen per second" on block keeps Specters alive very well. However the rare jewel with minion elemental resistances can be dropped for Primordial harmony.

Elementalist has 2 very different variants to play :

Variant requires more changes to gear and has higher starting cost, but has excellent balance between damage and survival when everything is set.

What makes this build "better" than all the other builds?
LEVELING


While leveling to use Golems in endgame, its good to use other types of minions as well. Necromancer gets access to 3 very useful minions early in the game and should be using all three until accessing maps :

DIFFERENT MINIONS AND HOW TO USE THEM



ZOMBIES

  • Access as early as level 1 (Reward for quest "Enemy at the Gate" in Act 1)
  • Work as meatshields
  • Need maximal defense from gear and Gem links


Zombies are great defense against enemies as they form a wall between you and the threat. Try to place Zombies in items that grant extra levels for Gems and link defensive Gems to them to make them last as long as possible.

SUMMON RAGING SPIRITS

  • Access as early as level 1 (Reward for quest "Breaking Some Eggs" in Act 1)
  • Flying, homing minions
  • Need maximal damage from gear and Gem links


Summon Raging Spirit is like homing fireball and flies to enemy. They fight for a while and perish in about 10 seconds when their time runs out. They are instantly replaceable and should be linked with pure damage Gems.

Specters are main damage dealers for this build until the Golems are fully accessible. Specters level is linked to the area that they were originally raised, so they have to be resummoned from time to time to keep their level up.



Using "Desecrate" to get corpse for "Raise Specter"

Use "Desecrate" skill manually in certain area to spawn corpse pile with "wanted" corpse on it. You can check corpses if you have "Raise Specter" skill in skill tree by pressing "A" button and hovering mouse over corpses.

Once you find "Wanted" corpse, use "Raise Specter" skill on it and repeat using "Desecrate" until you have maximum number of "Wanted" type of Specters out.



Keeping Specters level up

When you enter any area while you have certain type of Specter up, it will automatically add that Specter type to the possible monster types that can be desecrated in the area. If you have level 50 Specters and want to raise them to level 60, you have to :
  • Enter level 60 area with wanted type of Specter raised
  • Start casting high enough level Desecrate to summon level 60 Corpses
  • Continue casting Desecrate until you find wanted type of corpse
  • (Optional) At this point drop all original Specters by removing the gem and inserting back again
  • Raise the Specter and it will be now level 60
  • Continue casting Desecrate until you have maximum number of Specters from the area

Flame Sentinels

PRIORITIES WHILE LEVELING


Maximizing Minions Regeneration / Life / Resistances

Maximizing minions defenses is number one priority from the point that this build starts. Minions don't have any health regeneration or life leech at start and will die all the time. It's very frustrating to raise half of the army after every fight, so we raise minions regeneration up to 12,5% at which point they very rarely die even in boss fights.

Regeneration
  • 2,5% from the skill-tree (1% and 1,5%)
  • 10% from early leveling items (6% from shield, 2% from amulet, 2% from helmet)


Resistances
  • 40% base
  • 16% skill-tree
  • 16-20% from Jewels (2x Jewels with "Minions have +8-10% to all Elemental Resistances")




Maximizing Minions Numbers

More minions mean more damage but also more targets for enemies to hit. This increases defense for Necromancer and each minion individually. Summon Raging Spirits have always 20x maximum number.

Zombies and Specters number :
  • 8 Zombies (3 base, 3 skill-tree, 1 boots, 1 wand)
  • 5 Specters (1 base, 1 skill-tree, 1 boots, 1 wand, 1 armour)




Maximizing Minions Damage

Minions damage is essential to finish bigger fights quickly, but should never be obtained by sacrificing minions defenses.



Chaos Resistance

Chaos damage penetrates Energy Shield and does damage straight to Health. Usually chaos damage found in acts or maps is very low and not life threatening if being careful in areas that have chaos damage monsters. Still try to get chaos resistance on rings and amulet to help with potential chaos damage spikes.

CHOICE BETWEEN DEFENCE OR OFFENCE
When reaching level 50 you have choice between defense or offence.

Defense (Default guide option)
Drop Necromantic Aegis to equip shields bonus to yourself. Game-play is very safe as you can keep block chance high and block most of attacks. Casting "Bone Offering" boosts chance to Block even higher.

Great shield to equip at level 54 is called "Daresso's Courage". At level 68 shield should be changed to "Rathpith Globe" or rare shield with "XX of Block Chance applied to Spells"

Offence
Keep Necromantic Aegis and equip "Victario's Charity" at level 50. This boosts minions damage massively but leaves you with almost no chance to block or evade attacks. Game-play is faster but requires lot more kiting and situational awareness to survive. Casting "Flesh Offering" boosts minions and your speed even higher.

For crafting you need :

USING VAAL ORBS


Using vaal orbs on uncorrupted item corrupts it, in most cases blocking its modification later on. Corrupting item may however change its original values and add more powerful lines into it. There is high rish / high reward in corrupting item, so be always prepared to buy new one if you lose the original item due to bad corruption.

BONES OF ULLR +1 LEVEL


Corrupting Bones Of Ullrs and aiming for +1 level of socketed items takes both currency and luck. You need about 20x Bones Of Ullrs and 20x vaal orbs to corrupt the wanted modifier.

Apply "Armorers Scraps" always to the Bones Of Ullrs you are corrupting as they increase their defense value and cost almost nothing. Don't add jewels or links to boots as they can be added later by using high level master Vorici's crafting bench.



FLAME GOLEM LEVEL 21 AND EMPOWER LEVEL 4


Level extra Gems in your alt weapons slot (accessible by pressing "W"). Even if these weapons are not active, skill Gems linked to them still get experience.

Use 2x one handed weapons in these slots with 3 red sockets each. Sockets don't have to be linked.

In these sockets put 6x Flame Golem Gems to get 6x chances later to get one of them as lvl 21/20. You can change 1-2 to Empowers if you get one as drop or buy one.







HOW TO KILL BOSSES?


GUARDIANS


EARLY TACTICS


On early levels and non optimal gear / Gems stack Golems health regeneration and life. This is done by remove all Jewels except "Anima Stone" and and Minion resistances ones, and replacing them with "Primordial Harmonies", changing shield to "The Oak" for extra regeneration and if needed replacing "Controlled Destruction" Gem to "Minion Life Support" Gem in Golems links.

To Keep Specters alive during the fight, make sure you have summoned them from as high tier area as you can get access to. You can also change one of damage gems to "Minion Life Support" in Specters links.

If Animate Guardian is below level 20 don't even try to take it to Guardian fight. Zombies with level below 20 also die in Guardian fights extremely fast.


ENDGAME TACTICS


Chimera

Chimera is pretty easy boss and doesn't need much gear swapping. When Smoke phase starts, use both "Kiara's Determination" and "Rumi's Concoction" flasks and you can run freely from cloud to cloud.

Needed items :
- "Kiara's Determination" flask
- "Rumi's Concoction" flask



Hyrda

Hyrda uses lots of cold based attacks and spells. "Rumi's Concoction" flask is great as it helps you to block most of attacks. Use "Kaltensoul" shield to raise Golems maximum cold resistance.

Needed items :
- "Kaltensoul" shield
- "Rumi's Concoction" flask



Phoenix

Phoenix uses lots of Fire based attacks and spells. "Rumi's Concoction" flask is great as it helps you to block most of attacks. Use "Kaltensoul" shield to lower fire damage Golems are taking.

Needed items :
- "Kaltensoul" shield
- "Rumi's Concoction" flask



Minotaur

Minotaur does very heavy physical damage to which build has very little mitigation. Try to maximize your Life + Energy Shied to not be one shotted by bosses attacks. "Rumi's Concoction" flask is great as it helps you to block most of attacks. Use "The Oak" shield to maximize Golems health regeneration.

Most important note :
When Minotaur burrows underground, he will appear soon in your current location and most likely 1-shot you. Move away from your old location as soon as possible and Minotaur will harmlessly appear in your old position. When you master this, Minotaur will be much easier to deal with.

Needed items :
- "The Oak" shield
- "Rumi's Concoction" flask
- As many "Primordial Harmony" Jewels as possible, while maximizing your own life and energy shield.





SHAPER


Shaper uses lots of cold and fire based attacks and spells. "Rumi's Concoction" flask is great as it helps you to block most of attacks. Use "Kaltensoul" shield to raise Golems maximum cold resistance and to lower fire damage Golems are taking.

Lastly don't take Animate Guardian to Shaper fight if it's not at least level 25.

Needed items :
- "Kaltensoul" shield
- "Rumi's Concoction" flask
- As many "Primordial Harmony" Jewels as possible, while maximizing your own life and energy shield.



VAAL TEMPLE


Vaal trio does very heavy chaos damage over time. "Rumi's Concoction" flask is great as it helps you to block most of attacks. Use "The Oak" shield to maximize Golems health regeneration.

Lastly don't take Animate Guardian to Vaal trio fight.

Needed items :
- "The Oak" shield
- "Rumi's Concoction" flask
- As many "Primordial Harmony" Jewels as possible



ATZIRI


Robots

Robots are very easy bosses. When entering boss door don't run straight, but to one side. This way other robot raises earlier than the other.



Trio

When you enter boss room, the most dangerous boss is the tentacle witch back of the room. Use spell totem to guide Golems next to the witch before you enter deeper into the room and boss fight starts.



Atziri

Atziri uses lots of Fire based attacks and spells. "Rumi's Concoction" flask is great as it helps you to block most of attacks. Use "Kaltensoul" shield to lower fire damage Golems are taking.

When Atziri enters 4 clones phase, guide Golems with placing "Spell Totem" next to clone that is not holding a mirror. The mirrored clone has 100% damage reflect and Golems will die if they shoot it.

Lastly don't take Animate Guardian to Atziri fight if it's not at least level 23.

Needed items :
- "Kaltensoul" shield
- "Rumi's Concoction" flask



UBER ATZIRI


Uber Atizi should be done only with extremely well leveled and geared Golemancer. Use same advices as with normal "Atziri" fight, but don't take Animate Guardian to fight even if it's max level.



HOW TO KILL BOSSES WHILE DEAD?


After 3.1.0 patch this is not longer possible.





HOW TO PLAY AS GOLEMANCER?


Playing as Golemancer and Necromancer in general is very different from many other builds. Golemancer has fewer enemies targeting character as most of enemies are fighting against minions. This makes Golemancer safe build to play as long as gear and positioning of minions and character is done with care.

Best place to position character is on the opposite side of pack / boss while are on the other side leaving boss in the middle. Try to stay so close to boss that Temporal Chains affects it, but not too close to get hit by big area of effect hits :

(You) <-> (Boss) [Temporal Chains range] <-> (Minions)

Golems & Specters are very tough minions and very rarely die during boss fights. They have great damage but boss fights tend to feel long as flasks can’t be used to replenish hit points, so there can be many low hit point stages during the fight. Its important to move all the time during the boss fight as it drops chance to get hit by charge attacks, and to rely on block flasks when feeling bigger threat. Flasks can be recharged by visiting hideout during longer fights, so block can be kept up most of the time.



NECROMANCER, OCCULTIST OR ELEMENTALIST?


Necromancer

Benefits compared to others
- Easiest to play
- Cheapest to gear
- High chance to block
- Deals most single target DPS
- Tankiest Specters with "Soul Weaver"
- Offerings affect you
- 50% faster Convocation

Weaknesses compared to others
- Average clear-speed

Scores (1-5, higher is better)
- Total damage : 4
- Single target damage : 5
- Defense : 4




Occultist

Benefits compared to others
- Tankiest with good end-game gear
- Massive ES Regen keeps ES full almost all the time
- Can curse hexproof enemies
- Extra curse from Ascendancy
- Stun Immunity
- Minions chaos explosions give excellent clear-speed
- More freedom of choice as Desecrate + Offerings are not mandatory

Weaknesses compared to others
- Lowest single target DPS
- Specters need "minion life support" in helmet to survive endgame boss fights
- Needs endgame gear to tank and clear at high speed

Scores (1-5)
- Total damage : 3
- Single target damage : 3
- Defense : 5




Elementalist 6x Flame Golems + 3 Specters

Benefits compared to others
- Most overall damage
- Fastest clear-speed (Mobs + boss)
- More freedom of choice as Desecrate + Offerings are not mandatory

Weaknesses compared to others
- Least defense
- Specters need "minion life support" in helmet to survive endgame boss fights

Scores (1-5)
- Total damage : 5
- Single target damage : 4,5
- Defense : 2




Elementalist 4+1+1x Golems + 2 Specters

Benefits compared to others
- Status immunity (freeze, chill, burn, shock & bleed[requires specific boots])
- Blinded enemies[requires specific gloves] (50% chance to evade melee attacks)
- Can swap status removal flasks to other types
- Not worrying about any ailments makes playing maps very relaxing
- More freedom of choice as Desecrate + Offerings are not mandatory

Weaknesses compared to others
- Specters need "minion life support" in helmet to survive endgame boss fights
- Boots and gloves needed for bleed immunity and change to blind are expensive

Scores (1-5)
- Total damage : 4,5
- Single target damage : 4
- Defense : 3



CONTROLLED DESTRUCTION OR FIRE PENETRATION FOR GOLEMS?


Controlled Destruction

Adds more damage to attacks but wont lower enemy resistance at all. If enemy has 50% fire res, only 50% of damage would go through. However Elemental Equilibrium(EE) drops enemies fire res by 50%, so resistance would be 0% and full added damage goes through. However if EE is not up or enemy has 75% or more fire res, only partition of damage would go through.

90% of the mobs have below 50% fire res and EE can drop them to minus resistance, so Controlled Destruction usually gives more damage. If you like active play-style and keep casting totem often you end with much more damage than with Fire Penetration.

Fire Penetration

Doesn't add any more damage to spell, but will let more damage through the resistances. If enemy has 50% fire res and EE is not up, 90% of damage would still go through. If EE is up and fire resistance drops the resistances to 0%, Fire penetration will lower the resistances below 0% to -40% and starts to add damage so it wont go to waste in any case.

If you like passive play-style and don't like casting totem or focus only killing endgame bosses, Fire Penetration can work better than Controlled Destruction.



HOW TO RUN 3X AURAS SIMULTANEOUSLY?


How to run Discipline and 2x Curses simultaneously

Take both "Leadership" and "Sovereignty" (using lower nodes) skill-tree nodes to reduce mana reservation for each aura. As curses turn to auras using Blasphemy, they are affected also by mana reservation reduction nodes. After taking all mana reservation reduction you can run all auras simultaneously

I have started in-game guild for Flame Golemancers. It's meant for any players that have Flame Golemancer as their most active class or want to start playing the build.

Basic idea of the guild is to to help members, give them channel to form parties, share ideas and to have enjoyable channel to chat in. Guild stash is meant to share leveling gear with new members and to share maps for easy Atlas progression.

I was one of the first golemancer players after ZiggyDs video came out. I have feverishly tested every possible item / skill combination that I have found in forums / thought myself to see what combination of skills and items gives best balance between survival and damage.

Many other builds lack in depth knowledge about summoner mechanics and are clones of each other. I try to bring to the table new role and skill set for summoner. This build has been cloned already 8 times for my guild members and friends and all have been amazed by it even if they have ran summoner before.

I run Empower instead of Fire Penetration for Guardians and Shaper. I'm aiming to get 3R 1G 2B on +1 Infernal Mantle later to run empower with Fire Penetration. Highest ES i had was 11k when I didn't cap Flame Golems resistances and ran actively t16 and shaper. Now I dropped ES to around 9-10k and run current links as i get much better clear speed. For shaper I insert Empower and 6x Primordial Harmony for about 15% hp regen for golems.

Ill try to add videos and screenshots later but cant do it atm.

I've recently made a golemancer and have been trying elements of this guide, thanks for making it.

I just had a question about the Arc totem you use, it doesn't seem to proliferate ignites from my golems? The proliferation skill gem says: "Elemental Status Effects caused by supported Skills spread to other enemies". So the shock effect on Arc will be proliferated because the prolif gem is linked to it, but it's not linked to ignite so it won't spread that?

Glad that you have liked playing with golemancer, its a great build to play with.

Seems you are right on Elemental Proliferation. It's the latest addon for me gem set, and has been tested in maps with public parties. It felt that it worked and party also reported seeing it working but I guess it was just a placebo effect now that I read its wording again.

In that case ill try running Arc -> Scorching Ray -> Spell Totem Support -> Faster Casting Support and take Ancestral Bond to get -50% res from Arc and EE + -24% from scorching ray as it doesn't hit, so doesn't trigger EE at all.
