100% increased global defences

Hello!

Can anyone please explain how it works?

I'm looking at skin of the loyal.

Let's say I have a shield with 100 armor on it.

Is it doubled to 200?

global defences means evasion, armor,es , all three , so you get 100% increased to all 3
Something like that. Skin of the Loyal's bonus stacks additively with any other bonuses you have. So, suppose your shield, in white or blue, displays 100 Armour in its hover over tooltip. Suppose you took a lot of increased Armour nodes and you notice that equipping and removing the shield changes your Armour Rating by 250. That implies you have a total of 150% from other sources. Skin adds on 100 to that for a total of 250% increased, which means your Armour from shield goes from 250 to 350.

Or to think about it simpler, just take the item's global flat Armour contribution (white or blue at the top of things like shields and helmets, or simply the amount in blue at the bottom for belts, unique amulets., and the like) and take that as "added again to" to your net Armour Rating. So, for example, if the numbers in the first example were changed to like 346 at top of shield stats and 529 change in total Armour from shield, just know that Skin would make the new impact of shield (529 + 346)
