Starforge Shrouded Cosplay (3D/2D hand drawn Starforge progress)

Hy everyone,
im gonna make it short. So i want to create a Starforge, but it is pretty much my first cosplayweapon, so if you have any suggestions on material and stuff pls help out if you like. Here i have the parameters i got so far. https://gyazo.com/a3dce6ae91737ec4a82de8e761f89f13 So it looks like i am going for a foam/styrodur base, but i still am thinking about how to stabilize the ring, so that the sword does not break. Finaly im done deciding the armour set i want to make. I ended up with the Shrouded armourset from the Prophecy supporterpack.

I came across a video on youtube a few days ago that may offer a bit of inspiration.
Adam Savage's One Day Builds: Hellboy Sword! Wooden skeleton with bondo (auto body filler) to fill out the general shape of the sword. Sturdier than foam but still fairly lightweight. Seems like it may work well for what you're going for. He uses aluminum tape to give it a metallic look but you could probably get away with just paint. For the ball thingy right above the handle, no idea what you could use. If you dig around that channel you'll find lots of prop building tips and tricks. Good luck! Just a lowly standard player.
