Why is leap slam so bad?

I seem to remember it jumping futher. A least lightning warp can jump any distance that you can see and WB is really fast. Leap slam needs a serious buff dont you guys think?

I only use it to jump over things or empty places (useful with lab traps) and to get out of the way of mobs when I open a strong box.

Definitely could use buff. Both in animation and distance.
If you use a script to force it to always attack in place it becomes a lot more useful.

Another issue it has is the base 1.4sec attack time which is unaffected by movespeed (like LW and shield charge) or by base weapon speed (like all the other attack-based movement skils.

With that said, if you're willing to invest around 100% increased attack speed (like I did with cast on crit leap slam), it is a pretty good movement skill that can really scoot you around the map.

I think Whirling Blades also replaces base weapon speed with a universal base attack time. Never paid attention to Blink Arrow details though (and of course for Cyclone it is kind of irrelevant).

Use a necro support with ALL auras and the flasks to have chaos bypass ES and leap slam is pretty damn sweet :D
Leap Slam is hands-down the best skill for killing that Whakawairua Tuahu boss.

They did nerf the range at some point reasonably recently though.

It was nerfed a few patches back for whatever reason. Not that bad on high attack speed RT builds, but on slower crit builds it's aids. Also very unconfortable to click the edge of its range to get max distance and/or use shift-leap on a movement skill that has no cooldown.

Brightbeak leap on weapon swap is cool though.
