Stuck on Dominus in merciless

So I'm level 65 on my archer and I'm stuck at the act 3 boss Dominus on merciless difficulty. Now i got through his minions and his first form without too much difficulty but his second form seems impossible for me to fight with my current gear. Ive unlocked the eternal laboratory so i figured I could grind a few end game maps i picked up but even those seem difficult. Should I go back to another area and grind until I get better gear? I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

What issues are you having with the second form?

I think its probably the choas damage but the second i enter the boss room in his second form I just start taking damage and that just makes me run out of potions and kills me pretty quick.

If original poster says he is an archer and he's having issues with the 2nd form, I would assume he's having issues with the blood rain and/or being forced into melee range. Usually, just having a flask of Staunching would help a lot here, as well as knowing you can avoid getting Blood stacks on you by standing inside the golden dome during blood rain (having the sounds on helps for this).

But original poster says he is also having issues with Maps, so I would assume it's the usual stats issues: having capped resistances, and, assuming a Life build, having enough Life nodes and Life on gear.

If it's the latter, OP should note that on Life builds you generally need Life on every piece of your gear and rolled in as high a tier as possible; 50+ on jewelry and 70+ on main equipment pieces is a pretty good goal to shoot for. If you can't stack up that much Life, then you need to have the damage output to compensate; you would need to show us your Weapon and main gem socket link up to see if we can skyrocket your damage if glass cannon is your cup of tea.

EDIT: just saw your reply. Dominus deals no Chaos damage. Your main problem is your Life falling smoothly down with nothing hitting you, right? Then it's the blood rain I mentioned in my first paragraph. Try to get the magic mod "of Staunching" on one of your utility flasks (any of your flasks that aren't Life, Mana, or Hybrid). You can roll it on any Flask, but it's best on utility flasks to take full advantage of the immunity part. (With a Life flask, for example, you lose immunity as soon as you reach full Life). The Blood rain that Dominus uses puts stacks of Corrupting Blood on you, which is a Bleeding effect. Flasks of Staunching remove and grant immunity to Bleeding effects.

Yep, all the above. Second form only deals physical damage, and that bleed immunity flask will be your best friend. Not only does the rain cause bleeding if you aren't standing in his bubble, but his basic attacks give you Corrupting Blood stacks too.

Also, if you're respawning in the second form fight, try moving a tiny bit to shake off immunity then standing still. He has a skill that grabs you and pulls you into melee range from anywhere in the arena, which is actually super useful to avoid dying to the blood rain.

Throwing out a stone golem will help rebuild the life you are losing and distract attention from you. A decoy totem also might give you time to get off some shots.

U need 2 things.

1) Flask that removes bleeding on use

2) Stone Golem and\or Decoy totem of appropriate lvl.
