2.4 Lags when loading maps/crashes/not responding/loading times
Hi there since 2.4 i have several issues in the game.
Lags when loading a map: many times when i enter a map i will have laggs, which take usually 5-10 seconds till it is normal again. I could live with that, though it happens sometimes in the middle of the map, it is rarly but happens, no need to say, it could and alrdy did result in death. map loading times/not responding/crashes: maps either load normal (in a matter of seconds), or take up to 30-60 seconds to load, sometimes the whole client stops responding, which may or may not result in a client crash. Never had this problems so far, first appeared since 2.4 anyone else experiencing these issues? Update to the Lag: After enabling the performance statistics, i am able to clarify the lagpart a little bit. When entering a new map, and when i start mocing, the frame time pumps to about 4200ms, and the FPS to 0 for this time, the latency bumbs from abnout 16 to only a tad over 100. At least i am sure now this isnt latency ralated. Any comment from your site ggg would be rly appreciated Last edited by Peonfighter#4479 on Sep 6, 2016, 1:17:33 PM Last bumped on Nov 10, 2016, 9:33:29 PM

I have the same problem since 2.4.
Before there was only a few seconds of lags when the game loads the instance (e. g. rain areas). Now these lags are much longer, sometimes 30 seconds, sometimes >5 min. It's really annoying to play with these lags. I hope there is or will be a fix soon. |

The re-installation didn't help a bit btw.

Same problem here, lag when entering and staying in a map.
I tried changing from fullscreen to windowed fullscreen. It gets better a few seconds and then the lag comes back. Help please |

I can relate to all those problems. It's just crazy how bad it is right now. I've had times where i start the game, choose a character and log with it. After 2 minutes in, i decide to change character and when i log out to character menu, my game freezes forever. 10 minutes ago i wanted to help a friend with Malachai fight. The first phase of the fight took probably 1 minute, of which i was frozen the whole time. I was watching a picture that changed every 10-20 seconds. Crazy freezes during the second phase too. Or when i teleported few times in a row from town to town and the final time i teleported the loading time was so long, i found myself in the log in screen...
EDIT: I've decided to try out some stuff before quitting PoE untill a fix. I have disabled multithreading and also included both parameters "--waitforpreload --noasync" for the game. (hopefully i'm doing it right). So far - so good. No stutters and crashing, but i've only been playing for 10 minutes. You, whoever has the same problems mentioned above, should try those fixes. Do mind loading times become a bit slower, but the result might be worth it! EDIT 2: Enabled multithreading mid-map (first map i played was with burning grounds). Ran a total of 8 maps in a row, all of them different types. Only small stutters on Marshes, but nothing big. So the final verdict is that probably the --noasync does the job to prevent the stutters for me. My PC specs CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz RAM: 8.0 GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 with an HDD, no SSD and win7 64 bit. I might be an asshole, but at least I am toxic.
