Dealing with ele reflect...

Hi there, i have a few questions about elemental reflect monsters... how do you survive against them as a elemental crit char ? :D
Nah, but seriously... I have recently started a crit Freezing Pulse assassin, and it's been a blast so far, everything dying left and right (currently lvl 55 in cruel act 4). The problems start whenever i encounter any ele reflect mobs. with around 2k life atm, and decent cold res i can still one shot myself if i crit hard.

Are there any tips how to avoid dying from reflect, becides stacking my cold res and life?

Oh, and is this worth using if reflect is an issue ?

Instant leech, or spell block/dodge.
2k life is also far too low for any decent a4cruel build. You should have 3k by the time you _enter_ merciless.
Once you get to around 4k - 4.5k health and 75% cold resist, the occasional rare mob with reflect won't be so bad. You might drop yourself to half health or so before it dies, but that's it.

Reflect maps are another issue. I either swap in a physical spell or use Spell Totem if I have my heart set on clearing one.
Look, man. Video games are hard, okay?
I played freezing pulse this league and found it much more effective with elementalist. 50% reflect reduction and prolif is really nice.

(p.s. freeze does not prolif...however it gets harder to freeze mobs in higher tier maps so the prolif becomes very valuable in higher tier when the mob doesn't freeze)

Personally I think there is enough spell crit on tree that you can do fairly well. Also you could use Pledge of Hands and take a bunch of global staff crit nodes north of templar tree.

I enjoyed FP way more as an elementalist.

Just food for thought. :)
paragon of calamity is good stuff.

its crucial to have cold res maxed, in fact yours should be 76.

replaced my belt with an immortal flesh and reflected myself
astonishingly hard. 70% cold res and 76% cold res are night and day.

if you ever roll a corrupted map with ele reflect that you really
wanna run anyway. paragon, sybils and replace your crit gem with
an IIR gem... (less spike damage to threaten you.. also better items)

probably wont need to flask more than once per 20 white/blue kills
(yea without leech.)

when you know you are fighting a reflector, maybe you hit it once or saw
it comming and stopped yourself. assuming you only have paragon and no leech,
you can cut the reflector down with burning damage from elemental conflux.

the fire damaged caused is based on your FP damage, so its HIGH. throw
a few shots at him flasking as you need to till they ignite.

you can manuver a reflector near a white or blue back and ignite THEM causing
it to proliferate to the reflector. (used to do that a lot before paragon... I
just shoot them now...)

spell dodge is good, but very hit and miss.
cold res flask and purity of ice
