What happened to persistent footprints?

Stopped playing for a while.
Just restarted.

Very disappointed to see there are no longer persistent footprints... =(

I agree.

That should be fixed. I believe the default footprints effect as a player's character travels Wraeclast may have gotten corrupt somewhere along the line when GGG started introducing MTX footprints.

Then again, GGG probably did not want to go the extra proper step to code the default footprints in such way where if MTX footprints are applied, they overwrite / remove the default footprints, and then when the MTX footprints are taken off, the default footprints return (just like any other MTX when applied and then taken off whereupon the previous skin returns). What is the difference?

Bring those default footprints back, GGG.
When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails.
Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism
does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect.
