Why is Lion Sword better than Tiger Sword?

This has bugged me since the early days of PoE, the Lion may be the "King of the Jungle" but it is well documented that a tiger is far more ferocious and can easily kill a lion.

The Tiger sword should be the higher tier of the two.

tigers can also be significantly larger than lions. i've seen this first hand in zoos. siberian tiger looks like its 1.5x the size of a male lion, its insane

Do we look at a 1 vs 1 or are they allowed to bring their families? The greatest strength of lions is not physical power but the advanced coordinated hunting their females do.

But yeah, for a sword type I'd also put Tiger above Lion.

In terms of Taoism it goes like this:
The developers are from a Western culture. Western cultures are "yang". Lion is more "yang" than tiger. So obviously Lion > Tiger.

It's not just about size. Male lions are much more aggressive than male tigers and use to fight and challenge each other all their life.
Male lions often engage fights even when odds are overwhelming. The reason they are a symbol of bravery.

It's hard to tell which of these animals "will win" and "is stronger". It's basically nonsense, as they obviously can't meet in the wild.
If they fight in controlled conditions, the most motivated will win the fight, and size won't be the dominant factor.

yes the Siberian tiger vs a lion is no match . A full grown male 400 kilos Amur freaking pray on bears if it needs to ( periods with lack of food ). This they can do also when they reach about 200 kilos . The tigers body is also a bit different in the body vs a lion . The lion is big in front of his body , big strong forelegs and neck , slim in the back part of its body . The tiger is muscular all over the body . Looks a bit more like a cat in the body shape . The lion looks a bit more like a dog in the body proportions . The tiger can jump higher and further because of a more well balanced body shape not to mention obvious more power in the back legs than a lion . The tiger is also more agile , can climb trees , has longer teeth and claws ( even non Amur tigers ) . The tiger is hunting alone ( like a cat ) while the lion hunts in a pack ( like wolfs ) .

Its very rare though for a tiger to become as big as 400 kilos in the wild , the biggest so far discovered was about 460 kilos if i remember correct . An adult male lion can become about 250 kilos ( also rare ) on average they are about 200 + kilos i believe . If the lion had the same body proportions as the tiger i think they would be about 270 kilos , and 200 - 220 kilos on average ( but they dont have it so ) . A male lion usually don't live that long because of fighting with other male lions .

To compare the hunting i believe the tiger is far more skilled . Tigers don't hunt in a pack and is 100 % dependent on its own skill and intelligence to take down their pray . That being said the lion is one of the most intelligent hunters ever in the animal kingdom but hunting alone in a cold contry like russia ( with way less pray ) its impressive the Siberian tiger is still not extinct . I hope we can save this amazing and beatiful animal ( i get sad just thinking about it )

I have seen real fight between a lion and a tiger years ago . The lion was a male about 180 kilos and the tiger was a male about 150 kilos ( not siberian ) . It was pretty damn scary to watch . the fight was about equal until the tiger got its teeth auround the lions throut . At this time the fight was over the lion was loosing and it would die if the fight wasn't stopped by the people aranging it . Honetly people doing this are a-holes . Toy with nature like this . Anyway you can just imagine what a 400 kilo siberian would do to a lion , it would be like seeing a big house cat beating up a kitten , something like that .

When it comes to pound for pound most powerful cat it is the leopard i believe with the jaguar as a close second , tiger third but is the biggest cat in the world . The tiger are more simular to leopards and jaguars than lions really , you can see it in the body shape and behaviour , fighting techniques and hunting style .

Love the different cats , they are the most beutiful and majestic animals that has ever walked the earth :)

2 lions vs 1 tiger is still overwhelming conditions for a lion. Lions usually take one or two swipes from a tiger and run off to die. "Will to win" doesn't help because lions typically cannot defeat a tiger, even though sometimes here stupid enough to try.

How is it usual, when they can't even meet in the wild. On a side note, lions fight each other to death at times or engage in 1:2 1:3 fights, unseen with tigers.

A controlled fight between a lion and any non-siberian tiger is up to the individuals, no matter the difference of size.

Consider it this way: lions are better fighters, tigers are bigger and stronger.
