Pathfinder's Master Alchemist and Elemental Equalibrium

This ascendancy node has a 20% chance to freeze, ignite, and shock during flash use. If I had EE, how would these status ailments interact with it?

That depends. There is no direct relationship between the two. However, all of the elemental status ailments scale with Damage per Hit, and Elemental Equilibrium can help or hurt your Damage per Hit. Your Chance to X is the same as though you had never picked up Elemental Equilibrium

Details
In order to inflict Shock or Freeze you must pass two tests. For Ignite you only need to pass the first test.

1. Chance test. You must successfully roll Chance to Shock, Freeze, or Ignite. Note that Critical Strikes always have 100% Chance to Shock, Freeze, and Ignite, but are rolled per Skill Use, while actual stated stats of x% Chance to Y roll per Hit.
2. Minimum duration test. For Shock and Freeze, status ailment duration is based on the ratio of your Damage in one Hit vs the maximum Life of the target (by default). Ignite just has 4 seconds base duration. Every 1% of target max Life grants 60 milliseconds (ms) base duration. You need 300 ms to inflict Shock or Freeze (or Chill, which skips the first test) (default 5% with no duration bonuses)

Note that by default, the Type of Damage must match to contribute to the Duration. That is, only Lightning Damage contributes to Shock Duration and only Cold Damage to Freeze (and Chill). This can be modified by things like The Three Dragons unique helmet or that one Elementalist ascendancy passive that grants Elemental Conflux.

Soooooo bringing it back to your question, depending on how you use Elemental Equilibrium, the target's resistance might be raised or lowered. If you can lower elemental resistance of a Type, it'll have longer Duration (Shock, Freeze) or more damaging Ignites. If EE ends up raising target resistance, duration will be shorter and Ignite will be weaker. Also due to details in spoilers, if target's resistance, your "real chance to Shock/Freeze" might be lower (minimum duration), but your real chance to Ignite will be unaffected.

What I'm confused on, specifically, is the node itself. Let's say I deal cold damage. Can this cold damage apply shock and ignite due to the ascendancy node? And if it does, how does it interact with EE?
Nope! As somewhat mentioned in my Details edit, by default, damage types must match in order to contribute to duration (Shock, Freeze) or damage (Ignite). If the only game mechanic at play is X cold damage dealt in Hits, and the Pathfinder flask node, then you will only ever possibly Chill and Freeze. Freeze whenever you Crit and/or get the 20% success roll.

further explanation
I mean, technically you could pass the 20% chance roll for Shock and Ignite on your Hit. But, 0 damage means 0 second duration and 0 Ignite damage. An enemy doesn't Ignite unless it takes a nonzero amount of Damage.

EE is only based on damage dealt, not status effects. Chilling something doesn't trigger EE, for eg. But dealing cold damage does.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Yeah, I forgot to mention. Elemental Equilibrium, like I said at first, has no direct effect on the whole thing. It has zero effect whatsoever on the question of whether dealing only Cold damage with none of the default-changing effects I mentioned is able to inflict Shock or Ignite.

(To expand on the details on my last reply, lowering resists via EE is similar to providing a multiplier to damage, but 0 Fire or Lightning Damage × any % still = 0)

And like dudio mentioned, status effects don't trigger EE either.
