Kintsugi vs ev+es (both with dodge)
hei everyone.
Just wanted to hear your thoughts. what is in your opinion is better in the endgame- kintsugi with maxed dodge or ev+es chest also with maxed dodge like this one- just life mod missing -Let's say having 5k life, kintusgi is most efficient against biggest hits, so with kintsugi one shot damage value would be 6250 which is basicaly 1250 extra hitpoints (in best case scenario). So we can say that kintsugi provides from 0 to 1250 hitpoints which "recharges" every 4 seconds and does not work against repeated hits. -And ev+es chest with dodge provides 250-350 base es which with usual ~150 intelligence (30% es increase) is 325-455 es which starts recharging after 2 secs and ends at 7th second. With more other ev+es gear and/or discipline it can be nearly 1000 es. This would also work against repeated hits. -Other possible combination would be same kintsugi with other ev+es gear pieces with discipline ending up with somewhere 500 es. and ofcourse there is kaom's which i don't really like, but i assume it would be BiS. So which setup would you choose and why (except kaom's)? Last edited by Andrius319#4787 on Jul 11, 2016, 1:36:49 PM Last bumped on Jul 12, 2016, 12:14:32 AM

are you an es build? ,yes? use es , are you a life based eva build? if yes use kinsugi belly or if you are doing easy maps queen of the forest.
Well, if you plan to use both grace And displine and have a decent es pool then use that chest. otherwise drop all your es and go acrobatics life and kinsugi as that will yield the best results imo Last edited by Saltychipmunk#1430 on Jul 11, 2016, 1:55:53 PM

I'm evasion dodge build (4.8k life). all- kintsugi and rare ev+es, and belly have pretty similar defensive powers from my build point, they just provides defenses in a different ways. So this is why it's interesting to know which beats which.

From your two options I'd go Kintsugi. ES is a problem when you haven't based your entire build around it, primarily because small incoming damage, or ground effects like burning and shocking ground will stop your ES from regenerating leaving you without a significant amount of protection. By the time you're end game mapping you'll be moving reasonably fast and your ES will never have a chance to recharge.
Don't forget, with Kintsugi you not only get the Less damage benefit, but when you do get hit your Evasion jumps meaning you're less likely to get hit again in quick succession. Ultimately I think it will also depend on your build and playstyle. For my Bladefall Trapper, Kintsugi is doing a top job at keeping him alive. |

the rare is a ci chest, a fairly strong one. You wouldnt use that with acrobatics, like Aldora says es is very problematic if you are not built for it, it might as well not even be there half the time.
Its good for other builds though, you can hit 11k to 12k es with 8-20k evasion depending on auras and other gear being of an equivalent standard. Forget the dodge, find a way to blind and invest in es recovery start and speed, cwdt enfeeble. As a defensive base for a build you can do a lot from there, go crit spells, daggers, claws, wanding, trapper etc. Bows? not so sure about that, maybe, no shield is highly questionable. Sitting with a 12k life pool that can recover a 7k damage hit by itself in a matter of seconds can feel quite safe compared to a regular life evasion dodge build though whos essentially been 1 shot at that point. Life, with bows and dodge, kintsugi, has to be. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

thx for the feedback.
after all i guess 7 seconds of recharge is a bit too much comparing to kintsugi's 4 secs. Was thinking there how to increase hp fighting uber izzaro with buffs for extra keys, thou i assume it still won't be enough :D. Might do a reroll with another char on that sole purpose, to tank fully buffed izzaro. |
