Want to try HC what character would you suggest?

Which was enjoyable to play and most importantly had great survivability? Maybe a trapper scion or assassin? Trapper would be immune to reflect, but could it be really tanky? Maybe pure life trapper scion with double curses - enfeeble and temp. chains? Or is evasion a "no go" for HC?

For the trapper question:
Spoiler

You can play evasion trappers with no issues at all.

What you must keep in mind you need multiple layers of defense.

There are 3 archetypes for the defenses on a trapper:

Eva+acro

hybrid life/es + eva or mom or both but for mom u need a certain corrupted jewel to make it actually good

CI has a shitton more raw hit points than any other

No matter which you chose you will need an enfeeble blasphemy aura and a low level enfeeble on CWDT, since ranged monsters can be dicks in this game and kill you from offscreen when you least expect it.

Also you need to get a decent ammount of life (and mana) regeneration, since you can't leech.

Personally I would go with the hybrid life/es, since CI is expensive as fuck and acro chars were never my playstyle.

Also carcass jack and the trapper shield is hybrid bases and also quite decent items.
Just using the unique flask to get temporary ZO when needed and also, looking at a life pool half covered by ES is porn.

Shadow would be the best to pick, you can decide on a lot of things later.

Trickster, it is really decent, defensive option, and you can play lightning warp traps if you get 100% reduced trap duration with sunburst and the unique jewels, which is troll as fuck.

Assasin, could be argued, it is an offensive option, would play it with crit fire+ice traps, also elemental equilibrium makes the biggest difference there.

Saboteur, the only good thing is the chain reaction, since you don't have to aim that much with the traps, maybe there is something else to it, but it did not move my fantasy.

Hope I could help you, I am by no means a trapper player, I find them boring and my highest trapper was level 66.

As for generally playing hc:

Spoiler

You don't facetank things, you kite them and try not to get hit, even if you have 9k life and 70k armor with 95% resistances.
Getting good gear is important, just as transmuting white bases for resistances when you have nothing better.

Required to know the basic threats of the game, for example Daresso's infamous attack that killed alot of eva chars is a phys spell, so you need phase acro (which node some streamers mark as way too much investment, and so their mindless followers) for that shit, or more hit points.

Evasion is harder to play on HC, especially as a first character.

Armor/endurance based, like EQ Juggernaut is unlikely to run into any problems until mid-high maps.

Casters also kinda squishy without good defensive curses, except when using proxies that tank (minions, totems). Good curses require high level and quality, need to play carefully while leveling before you get those.

In general, for HC No. 1 priority is to play something you're comfortable with.

Thanks guys for your replies, something to think about. I feel like I shouldn't go for pure ES and hybrid ES/life requires a lot of investment in order to be good and I have nothing on HC league, its completely empty :). Probably it is going to be life scion or marauder.
