EV+ES Poison Trapper. Could you guys look at my build? No luck in Shadow forum.

So this is a modified version of this build by Pohx . I was playing around with some things and realized for only a loss of like 60% points of life I could gain a bunch more % energy shield points, that and even more evasion. Since this was an evasion build anyway it seemed better. On top of that, someone mentioned the Tempest Shield gem to me. That seemed really fun with the right shield so I am planning on incorporating that into this build.

I did do away with acrobatics for now to see how things work. Also I'm tempted to use the Obliteration wand over the Bino's + Southbound Combo. I'm still looking at other glove options that might fit better for me. I also haven't decided if taking CI is a good idea with this build or not. Any thoughts? So yea this is my build I'm planning. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I realize too, that this could be done with the Occultist. Might try that next.

You didnt say if you were using bladefall ?

Are you playing in HC or SC ?

Thank you for pointing that stuff out. I didn't realize my tree wasn't loading and that I forgot to mention Bladefall. How did you know I was using that anyway?

Can you post a tree link that is able to be viewed?

My only input at this point is that I don't think an ES bulid without leech is remotely safe without boosted blasphemy defensive curses.

no reason not to take acro , poison nodes right next to it

you want to aim for 4500 life if you can

blaphs + TC + AA would be a good defense setup

add in IC + cwdt setup

ok here is my build. Sorry for the confusion. for some reason poeplanner.com doesnt want to give me a tree I can post. Kinda lame really. Anyway, yea leech is a problem. I've gotten pretty used to having it. I am looking to link leech to Tempest Shield. I'll probly go with Bino's and not complicate my life any more than I already am. I save my really wanting to use the Obliteration Wands for a different build.

I dont really want Acro cause i dont like the penalties to shield and blocking. Whats AA? Still figuring out my future gear. I dont even own my Bino's and Southbound yet.

Yeah if you're relying on ES, I think Acrobatics would be pretty killer in a bad way. I was curious though and it seems 30% less block isn't as bad as it might seem. Focusing vs Attacks only, assuming 30% less Block chance from Acro and taking the full cluster for 40% dodge, the break even point is about 69% block. Below that, stacking Acro on top of block still gives benefit, just not nearly as much as when there was no block penalty.

Maths:
68% block: (1-(0.7*0.68))*0.6 = 0.3144 chance to take damage, or 68.54% avoidance
69% block: (1-(0.7*0.69))*0.6 = 0.3102 chance to take damage, or 68.98% avoidance

Naturally the lower your block is before Acro the more attractive Acro gets, for Attacks at least

(Random example:)
20% block: (1-(0.7*0.69))*0.6 = 0.516 chance to take damage, or 48.4% avoidance
