Possibly, but remember it is called the 'submerged passage' because it *was* submerged, before you used the glyphs.
Also note that if the submerged passage was partially underwater, the hidden cave would not be accessible. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Well if we want to go into plotholes of an area, we have to discuss that deep gulch that you cross at the beginning of the area.
But as far as the side are for the dweller, it would be completely fine if the entrance were submerged. You just gotta swim to the other side (in your head) |
