Scolds + inquisitor - sanctify question

Hi, I'm planning a build but i dont have an inquisitor to test this with.

scolds - "Your skills deal you 400% of mana cost as physical damage"

sanctify - "25% chance to create consecrated ground when hit"

Does scolds damage count as "when hit" and will it trigger this passive ?

for example if i'm spamming a skill really fast, will i basically have 100% up time on consecrated ground?

Yes, every time Scold's damages you is a hit.
Have you done something awesome with Sire of Shards? PM me and tell me all about it!
interesting, thanks for the answer. permanent immunity to all elemental status ailments sounds fun :D
By the way, the best combo with Scold's, or at least the best generally known one, is with Incinerate or Flameblast and Vaal Molten Shell. It melts bosses with almost no damage investment. Also works well with Juggernaut's 'generate endurance charge when hit' passive if you're too lazy to use enduring cry.
The Wheel of Nerfs turns, and builds come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the build that gave it birth comes again.

Also make sure that your skills actually do cost mana (i.e. don't use too many Elreon rings or Vaal Clarity), if the cost is reduced to 0 then Scold's actually doesn't hit you, I don't think.
