Scion Champion ascendancy low fortify chanche
I am a cyclone coc build and when am attacking mobs i need to go into mobs close range to hit them which is why i need fortify to suck incoming damage. After i put all of my gems i don't have room for fortify gem. So i picked scion champion ascendant and am using melee skill cyclone to proc fortify. Problem is the fortify has such a low chance 10% to proc, and when the buff is on its not getting renewed by cyclone hits.
My attack speed is not that high 3 attacks per second but even if i put faster attacks gem for testing and get to 4 attacks per second i still cannot sustain fortify. Even when am hitting pack of mobs my fortify has low chance to proc and when it procs its constantly expiring. These is so bad because its not reliable and when battling pack of mobs or a boss, i get hit constantly for high damage. When i do have fortify on its great and i am then tanky. By increasing fortify proc chance to at least 15% or 20% would make this skill reliable, which is needed for staying alive in mob close range. In mobs of more than one monster, you should be renewing fortify most of the time with 3 attacks per second. Fortify lasts 4 seconds, meaning 12 hits per monster, and you should be renewing it on average once every 10 hits. Unless you're missing a lot, but that doesn't seem likely in a CoC build.
Here are some things to consider: - Do you have reduced duration or something linked to Cyclone? - Using vengeance (or riposte) to give yourself some more hits per second. (you could link it to CoC as well to proc more spells, or just link it to fortify gem.) Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Concerning for the mobs packs, i have 100% chance to hit as i have hits can't be evaded affix on my dagger. My fortify duration is 4 seconds its not lower. I don't think there's a passive node that can reduce fortify duration, nor you cannot reduce it with skill gem. What you said works for the low damage builds but not for high damage builds. My cyclone probably never lands 3 hits on one mob because i deal so much damage with coc, so that mob is dead in first hit if not on first then on second hit.
For the vengeance, vengeance has such high cooldown of 1.2 seconds before it can hit something when it procs, so that you cannot maintain fortify with it. You cannot link fortify to vengeance it wont work. Last edited by Hukas#2876 on Mar 13, 2016, 9:09:18 PM

Cool, thanks for the clarification re vengeance. It is a bit sad that you can't link it to fortify.
" Sounds like that is your problem then! It doesn't matter how many mobs there are, if they all die in 1 or 2 hits you won't be doing enough hits to keep it up. I agree then that 10% chance is not reliable. 20% should be fine I think, especially considering the Champion itself can have fortify on all the time.
