Clicking on mysterious dark shrine disconnected me

Spent 2 hours going through the labyrinth for my first time. Got maybe 2/3 through. Found a silver door (had the key), behind which was a "mysterious dark shrine". When I clicked on it, my screen froze for about 3 seconds, refreshed for a fraction of a second, froze again for another 3 seconds and then I got disconnected.

Needless to say, I feel pretty gutted about all that effort being wasted. Otherwise, PoE has been running smoothly, with good frame rate, so I doubt it is a performance issue at my end.
