help with Inc. Duration calc

Hello,

I was wondering about Inc. Duration on damage calculations and I need some explaining.

For example, Poison(Gem) it gives you 10% per second as chaos damage based on the initial hit - physical + chaos for 2 seconds, 20% damage.


Let it be that you did summed 1000 damage from both physical and chaos.

- Poison will hit for 200 chaos damage, not thinking about the chaos damage increase or any other source like area, poison dmg...

Now the question: With Inc Duration lvl 20, 164% of 2s is 3.28s and some added from passives tree you can get it up to 3.5s (rounded) does this mean that i'll do 35% damage over 3.5s or 20% damage over 3.5s?

Neither, it will be 10% per second for 3,5s, PoE doesn't use 'X damage over Y seconds' format.

35% damage over 3.5s then!
