Skill Totems vs Damage Totems

Damage Wise... is there any major difference from a Spell/Ranged Attack Totem compared to the DPS of actual DPS Totems like Flame/Shockwave/Siege Ballista? The slower attack/cast speed penalized on the Skill Totems still feel harsh IMO since you already have to sacrifice a socket to use them. And the dedicated Totems get Life as their quality bonuses. Spell & RAT get Placement Speed.

Yes, native totems have a dps advantage over most spells with spell totem, the advantage of spell totem is diversity.

As an example, Flame totem has 762 dps at level 20
Fireball totem has 352, Incinerate has 410 (1026 at last stage) and Flame Surge has 620 (930 vs burning enemies)

The situation is similar with shockwave totem versus totemized ice and shock nova. If we do an apples-to-apples comparison with Ballista (Rain of splinters) - GMP - PPAD versus Split Arrow - RAT - Pierce, we come to some 75% dps versus 52%.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
