Map portals disappear after disconnect

There is literally no reason to bump this. GGG gets a crash report every time the game crashes and you restart the client. Me too posts are pointless and useless; you are not adding any information that anyone can use to actually fix the issue. If you have steps that are reproducible, that is when GGG wants you to post, when you have actual helpful information for them.

Would be a common disconnect, no problem there.. happens everywhere. But that the map instance is gone after logging in again is a bug that should be fixed.


So today I had a similar but in some ways pretty different experience:
I died in a Overgrown Ruins boss arena and got a strange behavior, when I tried to resurrect in my hideout I got "Failed to join instance because: Disconnected from server" and "Failed to join any instances". I gave it a few tries in case I should really got disconnected for a few seconds. But during the tries I received chat messages from a trade channel.
So I resurrected in town, no problems, entered my hideout and the portals where gone (just as expected).

I don't want to bump the old bug, I want to contribute a little piece of information I found today an may give you an idea.
It seems to me that when I tried to resurrect my hideout session was corrupted or got killed by the server anyhow else so I could not join it because you may check some instance relations(if the map portal of the map you in is not in the target instance then don't allow access?! Just a guess). I think something in this direction was the bug.
Now some abstract idea: if a player creates a new hideout instance, may you could try to check if there are any map instances available on the server the got opened by given player and reopen the remaining portals. I think something similar is done already when restarting the game with open portals, which in my case didn't work.

disagree with poster who discourages "me-too" players from posting instances of d/c with loss of map portals, items, and experience. yes, ggg gets the reports but I think it important that our gaming community knows the extent to which this is occurring and the lengthy duration of these problems without any fix. OP - you are not alone - this is happening to most of us and it is something that should be addressed. I'd like to hear something from ggg acknowledging the problem and letting us know what they're doing to correct it. specifically, will this have been addressed with the release of Fall of Oriath or should we just expect it to continue and have to accept it as is ??
I had it bad for I was running a T15 beachhead map and was about to enter boss fight when disconnection happened and the portal was gone after I logged in again. That's my 20c gone into thin air.
I have same problem but not only with maps, with crashes and teleports in all instances. Game is crashing when i try to enter each second-third instance so i started to put teleports sometimes. But when game crash i cant use teleport,theyre invisible,but i can see them on minimap. It make my exping almost impossible, since even reaching Malachai in act 4 through belly 1,belly 2 took for me almost half day because of those dc's and crashes.
I don't even need to crash. I often log out to reset my router. 9 out of 10 times the portals are still there in my hideout when I'm back. Sometimes all portals disappear after 5 minutes. I'll try the tip to not place portal on a monster corpse.
