Question about Damage Reflection in party

Hi all there.

I'm playing a CoC build, detailed here.

Even with a high damage output I got no problems playing alone. But partying with two guildmates, I died two times and about to die many others.

My guildmates are playing an Incinerate char and an Axe Marauder char. They give me no extra auras in party. The only different thing is that sometimes, the Incinerator char overwrites my Assassin's Mark curse with his Warlord's Mark, but I think is even a benefit for me (less damage and more leech).

The question is simple: why I die partying when I hit one or two times a Reflection mob, but my leech is quite enough when soloing?

Thanks in advance.

Monsters have more life, meaning more damage gets reflected to you before those monsters die.

For example, if you hit a monster with 10k life, and damage reflect is at 20%, you will do 10k damage to the target before you kill it, and receive 2k of that damage back. If you hit a monster with 20k life (boosted due to additional players in the game), you will receive 4k damage back before you kill it.

Thanks for the answer, Ashnazg01, but doesn't solve the question for me, even assuming the overkill damage has no reflection (and I don't know that). Even soloing, sometimes I need more than 5 hits to beat some tough monsters as a T14 map Reflection mob. That means I deal my whole damage multiple times, and after each hit I regain my full ES (or almost) thanks to the leech. Never had reflection issues.

Two days ago I died partying just after 2 hits versus a T10 map mob... I think there must be something else...

Is there something else?
Are you switching something in you gear?
Is a party member buffing your damage in some way?
If there is nothing else... ?
The answer seems legit.
Where there's one they're bound to divide it right in two.

No changes but the one I wrote in the OP. That's why I found that weird...

It could be elemental equilibrium. Party member applies it, you deal more damage, you die.
Reflect doesn't know what overkill damage is. If you hit a monster for 2k damage, the reflect is based on 2k damage. Makes no difference if the monster only has 1k life left.

You sure neither of those players has an aura? I don't see many builds running with no auras. I would think that at least the marauder might have Hatred if he's physical. Edit: nevermind, I just looked and you're already running Hatred and Haste. I doubt anything else would affect you much.

Maybe the trash around doesn't die as fast so your barrage hits more things causing you to cast more spells on the reflect monster?
