Whispering Ice whispered audio cut off

Whenever you kill a rare with The Whispering Ice equipped it whispers something at you. The whispering audio gets cut off from time to time with what sounds like it might be mobs voice as they take damage. Is there a chance that they're on the same audio channel as Whispering Ice?

Sorry I can't offer much in replication of this. It happens often enough to be noticeable but not enough to see who/what is the cause. Only that it involves the hitting and/or killing of another mob along with the rare that triggers the whisper.
