Ice Crash - 2H vs Dual Wield ( RT)

WITH RT
Unable to calculate the dps difference dual wield vs 2H when it comes to this skill.

I have a 409 pdps axe and have been playing with the idea of dual wielding it.

what kind of bonuses of the offhand weapon apply to the total damage?

What would be better in terms of dps on the off hand
1. Soul Taker
2. Doryani

and why?
Note : Since the dps is only calculated on the main hand ....
The tool tip values are conflicting showing the doryani with a higher dps than a axe similar to soul taker dps.

Between the setup above lets say i get a soul taker on the off hand the effective dps ought to be 400 from main hand and bonuses from the off hand...

How does it compare to the average 500-600 pdps 2h weapon? (average 2h mace, disfavor )

where is the break even point where one is better than the other dw vs 2h

Hi,
Nice Axe you have there:)

Depends on tree but i'd say running this axe + Soul taker and hatred + Hoi (or HoT + auto curse) + HoA is more dps then just hatred + somthing.

dual weilding doesnt simply add the weapons dmg it alternates the weapons and gives you some offensive bonuses. There may be a couple of skills that combine weapons,

heres a build by fiqst tends to make good builds may be of some help

Im looking for some math to see which would give a better damage output and which is better .

Ive read up on the wiki and a lot of threads on the forums.
1. A majority of the dual wield seem to rely on a stat stick for the off hand.
2. There supposedly seems to be something inherently wrong with the tool tip DPS calculation when dual wielding for this skill ( I am still trying to find the official post from GGG on this and if a fix had been or will be implemented)
3. from my own observations i did verify that the skill only uses the main hand damage.

The math I am looking for is to find the break even where the fast DW weapons vs slow 2H damage meet and where one becomes better than the other.
( on this i had a marohi and my 400 pdps axe both of similar pdps and i found my axe giving more damage... which is why i am looking to find how the math works with damage scaling and damage modifiers )

Im not really big on the maths side of poe, certainly many people pursue the bouns of the off hand eg binos gives insane life regen soul taker uses no mana
from the wiki on ice crash http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Ice_Crash
Dual Wielding: When Dual Wielding, only the main hand weapon is used. Left hand can hold a weapon with other benefits than damage, such as Ungil's Gauche (but you already know this).

when you dual-wield you get the following bonus:

10% more Attack Speed while Dual Wielding
15% additional Block Chance while Dual Wielding
20% more Attack Physical Damage while Dual Wielding

as a stat stick you could use something like http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Lavianga%27s_Wisdom

but for raw damage:

as the dual-wield bonus are both "more" your weapon could be seen as:

1.48 aps -> * 1.1 = 1.628

(205 + 346) / 2 = 275.5 (average damage)
275.5 * 1.2 = 330.6

total: 330.6 * 1.628 = 538.2

so while using ice-crash your 1h axe would compare to a around 540 pdps 2h axe, but with 15% base block and you can get more extra stuff from the off-hand weapon, like aoe and area damage in my example link above, or no mana costs (soul taker)

^ that is helpful.
The no mana thing allows us to go nuts on speed thereby increasing dps.
