5 sockets and game tells me it is the maximum ?!?!?!

Hi,
I was using Jews to 6 socket my Belly of the Beast in one month softcore league. I was spamming Jews with closed eyes :P And when i finished it was 5 sockets and it tells me it has the maximum number of sockets. Can someone please tell me what is going on? The item level is too low to 6s manually but you can still do it with vorici's bench.
Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

Because the ilvl is too low to have 6 sockets. It's going to be under ilvl 50.
