Thaumetic Emblem appearing in inaccessible area

It's possible to knock Captain Arteri back into the spikes on the road between Acts I and II (minions and monsters seem to pass through that area without incident). If he dies while in there, he drops the emblem inside the spikes, where you can't pick it up.
