New Skill Gem Vendor System - what do you think?

After playing around with this a bit more, I have come to the following conclusion:

It would be even better if any and all gem was buyable by any character at any time. And ideally, the arbitrary minimum levels they have get ditched, too.

It all comes down to the same thing: Why should a player be forced to play something else for 30 levels before being able to play what he wants. You made this completely customizable skill system and then needlessly obscure it behind non-accessibility.

If I could just buy any skill gem from level 1 on for 1 scroll and any support, reactive and reservation gem from level 10 on directly from nessa (neatly organized in 1 tab per category and color in addition to the slight sorting we have now), it would be possible to build a character like I want from the start - and more importantly, see wether I actually like it or if it works at all (okay, almost everything works during the first two and a half acts on normal, but one can quickly see a difference between good and bad skillsets).

Btw, you can remove all non-quality gems from the drops then, too, making for less trash clutter.

Hand in hand with that, the early game sockets perhaps should be improved a bit more than already happened with v2.0. The first 40 or so levels fly by quickly enough that you tend to want to swap gear out relatively quickly (incredibly quickly during the first 1-2 hours of play). It is extremly unlikely to have gear available with useful linked socket combos every few hours, even if keeping some levelling equip in your stash.
Having to farm a bit for the perfect socket setup on your higher level gear is an important part of the character progression then, but during the early levels, this simply does not work out. Triple linked rare items should be the norm, not the exception when something drops during that time.

Both of these changes would make the game much more accessible to new and casual players, help hardcore superelite megaplayers try out stuff more easily and not affect your precious endgame vision at all.
Uhhhh, I'm not entirely certain what new gem vendor you're referring to, since I'm very new to this game. But I am DYING to find a summon skeletons gem, and no one is selling it to me. My hero is part intellect, so I don't know why I don't have access to all intellect gems...but this thing isn't there, and hasn't dropped, and no one is trading it...so what gem vendor is this?
Gem vendors are the best thing to ever happen to POE. Even better than loot filters.

Though I do wish they would either give all gems to all classes, remove the built-in experience, or both. It kinda sucks when I need a gem, have to buy it on a different character, and then have to wait an extra 10+ levels to use it because the gem is levelled too much.
I love this feature. One of the main reason I was unhappy with the temporary leagues was the pain it was to actually get the build you had designed. Now it's simple to get the combination of gems you need and actually play how you want.
I don't like that the gems level up in the vendor.

What this means is that when I have a gem like Blood Magic available for purchase, I buy like 10 of the, knowing that I'll use them when I reroll.

Seems to me like they tried to avoid people having to keep 3-5 stash tabs full of gems and wasting time trading crap but in the end you're still forced to improvise around half-baked mechanics.

If they simply made all gems available for everyone, that issue would vanish, too.
Is there a list of gems which are sold by vendors and which are not? I just came back to the game and one stash tab is full of gems I possibly can buy. The stash space is more important.
