Let me help you out. Break it down for you.

Gateway is just a way for you to connect to the Main server.

Think of it this way. [ Players -> -Gateways- <-> Main server. ]

1) All your toons will remain because there are no changes on the main server.

2) Chat Channels is Global and isn't affected by Gateways. People from different Gateways can be on the same channel as well.

3) Yes you will mostly meet people from your own "Gateway". Do take note that if you have party members that are on a different "Gateway" and they create a Map Instance and you join it, you will be on whatever "Gateway" they are on instead and will be subjected to usual Ping/Latency differences.

I mean Amsterdam then London and Frankfurt? Dafuq. I understand you probably have most of the players there but i don`t think they needed more servers in the first place , meanwhile the south is nearly completely uncovered .
