[1.3.x] SC Glacial Cascade Crit, fast - cheap - end game

Hi guys, this is my first guide and English isn't my native language but I will try my best to be as comprehensive as possible. I'm doing this to share my experience with Glacial Cascade and to receive a feedback about my choices.
Credit about this goes to all the GC build out there and in particular to Mathil's one from which I started (http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1099189/page/1). This was my char in 1mSC and now it's "optimized" for SC play.
What's PoE for me
I think that most of the choices that a player do while building a character are based on what he feels PoE should be. I like fast kill but dislike fast clear I like to stay alive but dislike immortal build I like dps but dislike the overkill … Then my choices are made following what I feel the game should be for me. Keep that in mind, maybe you’re looking for a different PoE experience.
Pro/Cons
PRO: Nice dps (23k with 5L and w/o power charges nor flask) = fast kill Arctic armour Build finished around level 80 Freeze mobs = shatters and help with defence Cheap but expandable CONS: Reflect can be dangerous Mana regen could be a pain

4L: 5L: add 6L: add one of this PRO: help with reflect (Vaal Pact needed) and most fights CON: no damage added PRO: add some damage and help with reflect CON: the added damage isn't that much and reflect is still an issue PRO: add massive spike damage CON: if reflect wasn't an issue now it will probably be PRO: add QoL and you can use a different curse with HoT CON: no damage added and doesn't help vs reflect
Auras
(or different curse if PCoC is equipped) (or Purity of Ice if you need more defence vs reflect or you use CoD. With CoD also nothing could be a choice)

Thanks for the guide. Nice and short, but maybe a bit too short ;)
I would like to know how (what choices have you made) you have optimized for SC. Which kind of gear (which attributes) would you recommend or doesn't it matter? Do you have leveling tips (which nodes to choose sooner and which ones later)? You mention Arctic Armor, but it's not listed in your gems/auras. | |
