Lineage Eternal announced - D3, PoE and TL2 are in big trouble!

D3 born dead with this Real Money Auction House.
Ex D3 player, looking for a new game.
I hate and I mean HATE those games that use those giant Anime swords. You know the ones I mean, the ones that are 3 times bigger than the toon carrying them. AAAAARRGGHHH!! I just get mad thinking about it.
.....And that's all I have to say about that.
Yeah.. No.

Never managed to get hooked on any Korean MMO, doesn't look like this one will be the first.
I simply don't like Asian art styles.

@OP: I do hope you find Lineage Eternal enjoyable, though.
The difference in Lineage Eternal is that it will be a MMORPG with action elements meaning that you will actually see ppl in towns unlike D3 which is an ARPG with a co-op mode.
Good luck everyone!

This games looks very good!!

But is in my opinion not a threat for PoE becouse it's a different kind of game.

Yup. I don't know why, but asian games just don't do it for me. They often have super nice graphics, but it feels like they put all the attention in the looks and there is nothing much behind. Even when the gameplay is good, I just don't connect with the theme and the story at all.

I have a friend who loves asian MMO's and he loves to grind ad nauseam. He loves the little girls with the stupid purple hair and double ponytails and the females that fight in high heels and whose skirt reveals their knickers and they go "ahhh ohhh" or whatever every time he casts a spell...

I don't get it o_O

And I'm all for boobs and eroticism in games, but I prefer the European heritage.

I can't help to notice how Asian games always fetishize the arian figure, tall, pale skin, but then they slap a world on top of it which is really their own imaginary and has no connection at all with the imaginary of Westerners.

That said I know it's just me and most people don't give damn and will play asian games to hell ^_^

Honestly sometimes I've slapped myself and thought I should learn to open my eyes to something different, and I don't feel like I'm being nostaligc or getting old. For example I absolutely loved Guild Wars when it came out, it was all ridiculously pretty, good looking, young characters, but they had just the minimum of Western style. Guild Wars 2 is kinda pushing the limit but still ok... just barely ok... with all the characters so ridiculously young and pretty.

Anyway just rambling.

Fascinating though just how strong the mythologies and dungeons and dragons theme are in video games and how we seemingly never tire of it.
Looks really polished but a bit mindless. I'll be sure to keep my eye on it though.
The camera angles would get old for me in this, like it's moving on it's own without direction from the player (at least thats what appeared to happen).

And while it is visually appealing, going high end on graphics is going to eliminate a percentage of your player base. A big reason Torchlight 1 and Torchlight 2 are so popular is because the are heavily optimized for low end machines (also made by a lot of ex-Blizzard staff responsible for Diablo 1 & 2). Diablo 3 may have made 6 million copies sold but if they had backwards compatibility like TL 1 & 2? It would have been 12 million, easily.

So this game? Looks great, will be passed up by many. Lineage is known for it's huge grinds, worse than Aion, worse than WoW (in some aspects). I'll stick with PoE.
Heck no. Lineage was an ABSURD grindfest, and this looks to be more of the same. Oh, I have to kill 185,438 characters to level from 49 to 50? Better get on it!

Call me when this game has half the player customization options PoE has.
The game definitely looks pretty. But I think it is really dull.

The action is fantastic but looked pointless. Does not really interest me but will keep an eye.
