Lineage Eternal announced - D3, PoE and TL2 are in big trouble!

A week ago in G-STAR 2011 Lineage Eternal was announced.

See the video and judge for yourself.

For anyone that doesn't know, the company behind Lineage is NCSoft which is also responsible for other games in Lineage series, Guild wars (and upcoming Guild wars 2), City of Heroes and Aion.

This game just looks breathtaking and unfortunately probably won't be out till' last next year but it seems like it will give a serious fight for D3 and PoE.

arenanet makes GW2 ncsoft is publisher, as for game, I dont say its bad, but personaly I prefer PoE

Eh. The action looks pretty mindless and the AI does nothing except run straight at you. The trailer was rampant with scripted events to make it look cooler than it actually is. They all seemed to die in one hit too.

The concept of drawing actions with your mouse is a misguided attempt to bring the Wii's motion control to the PC. It doesn't take a genius to know that drawing shapes with a mouse is difficult and unnatural. In the middle of battle lines are always crooked and circles are more like scribbles. I imagine players yelling at their PC in frustration as the game repeatedly fails to recognize their poor attempts at drawing shapes in the middle of a boss fight. Not to mention the lag between a player deciding he wants to use a skill, drawing the shape properly so the game recognizes it, and the character performing the skill.

The graphics do look pretty amazing.

Really, I don't think the arpg genre has anything to worry about this game. It looks to be a completely different feel and playstyle and will therefore attract a completely different type of player.

This games looks very good!!

But is in my opinion not a threat for PoE becouse it's a different kind of game. It's the same as comparing WoW with D3. I don't say dat some people will quit playing PoE or D3 when this game launches. But for me as example: I didn't played WoW after D2 becouse (simply) it´s not the same!

It looks good but that's it. I'd rather play PoE than that, and I've played neither.

I'll keep my eye on that, the control method is new as far as I can tell and it looks nice. But, what makes D3 PoE and TL2 interest me is the shear randomness of the game. its almost impossible to have an identical play through if its random enough.

this game is'nt my cup of tea im more of a PoE/diablo type person.

graphics were nice but it seemed repetitive and directed, I like a little bit of freedom to choose other than forward and back. Looks like a single-player console game to me
