Disconnecting like crazy help pl0x

Hey,
I've been disconnecting constantly, like once or twice /hour and i have HUGE lag spikes even in town, im using the carpet bomber build, so i dont think its the gems i use or something. Right now the game is borderline unplayable because i literally keep dropping from like 50-80% exp to 20 or even lower from all the times i rip to white mobs. I'm playing from portugal, on the European gateway and i have a 122.97Mbps download/7.32 upload connection right now(tested while i was writing this pm). Was the posted trace capturing when you experienced one of these lag spikes or disconnections?
If not, can you let it run while you play so it is capturing when you get one? | |

I don't see a LOT of problems with the traces.
I see there is some latency, but no real packet loss. There is nothing there that should cause a disconnect from a network perspective. One thing that struck me however is that you are using -nopreload. This is probably not a good idea for long-term stability. Preloading assets makes sure that although some of the initial loads and transitions can be longer, you save in the long term on caching assets and not getting the delayed load. Whenever you have to load an asset that isn't preloaded or cached, it has to fetch it from the hard disk and copy it into RAM. If you have a slower HDD, this can be noticeable (and responsible for flatlines, spikes, and even possibly disconnections). I'm not saying 100% that the -nopreload is causing you issues, but it can certainly contribute. Based on the available information, I think your issue is more likely to be PC related disconnection than network-related, although there can still be network issues that don't show up in the WinMTR traces. | |

Yes! i was the --nopreload command. Just one last question, would defragmentation quicken the loading time? because now it takes forever to load!

" If you use Steam then you can't use the ggpk defragmenter. If you use an SSD then you can't/shouldn't defragment the drive. If you use a standard HDD then you might gain a little benefit from disk defragmentation, but you'd be best getting an SSD. |
