Supporters influence on GGG

Why was [Removed by Support] banned?

As far as I know, he did nothing against ToU to have himself banned on his current account. He didn't bot, he didn't RMT, he didn't abuse any systems. So why exactly was he banned on the current account?

For breaking ToU on his previous account? That account was banned, justifiably, but as PoE is free to play game, it shouldn't matter what he does on his new account. Or does GGG ban users over and over again, on all their new accounts they create after they get the initial ban? I'm not aware of this behavior, are you? If they do, it would mean GGG doesn't allow for second chances and is vehemently preventing someone playing their game if they were ever caught doing something against the Terms. And I applaud such a stance, but I really doubt is the truth.

So why was he banned? Because [Removed by Support] decided so.

I have nothing against [Removed by Support] nor do I like [Removed by Support], so I'm really someone who can look at this from objective viewpoint. I do feel it's a sad state for the game and this community when one person can decide who plays the game and who doesn't. Especially when these decisions are made in an ultimative and threatening way 'ban him or I won't support anymore'.
No one is questioning the support [Removed by Support] provided to GGG, especially in early days of the game. But even his 20-30k $ is a meager amount of money GGG earned from all of their other supporters.

If me and 200 other players came on the forums and said 'ban player X else we will not support in Awakening' we would get ridiculed. Laughed at. But our summed support amount would probably be higher than 40-50k $.

Why does one person have the power to pressure GGG into doing actions that have no basis? If [Removed by Support] didn't stream, none would be wiser. But because he streamed and because [Removed by Support] wanted it, his account is banned because…his first account got banned few months ago? Sure, sounds reasonable.

If mod thinks this is name and shame of whatever, please just delete persons names and don't delete the whole thread. I'm just looking for some civil discussion.

Thanks.

[Removed by Support] is one of the few people who has a lifetime ban from PoE. If you had seen some of the hundreds of emails to both support and Chris you would understand.

Depends on the punishment system of the company. Riotgames (league of legends devs) has indeed shown that they can punish you beyond just banning your current active accounts.

Nobody is defending him. I don't like [Removed by Support], but I don't like the way [Removed by Support] dealt with it and I don't like how GGG are also breaking their own rules to target [Removed by Support].

Banning (unlimited, free) accounts and not people (if it can be done) is stupid, because someone who broke the rules before, will do it again. Unlimited, free accounts are a cheap price to pay.
