Standard 1vaal = 5 chaos

I hope i helped you ;)

Bullshit.

V:C is about 1-1.5:2-2.5, depending on who you're selling to or buying from.

But as to their non-trade value? Let's see:

95% chance of nothing
1% chance of destroying your item
1% chance of a white socket
1% chance of a corrupt mod of no value on the item
1% chance of a corrupt mod of value, but of a lower roll
1% chance of a perfect corrupt mod that is great for the item.

where did you get those numbers from? or are you trolling?

when vaaling a piece of gear, chances should be as follows:

nothing: 25%
white socket(s) (or nothing if the item has none): 25%
implicit mod: 25%
reroll to 6mod rare: 25%

OP only has chars in standard, so hc ratio is prolly not that useful. On the question it worths a bit more than 1 chaos, but most players want to pay 1 chaos for 1 vaal. When selling more you can get better ratio up to 1,5 chaos per vaal orb.

Where? Personal experience. I've only had one instance where an item was destroyed (Kaom's Sign became a rare, and with only one good mod), one where an item got a corrupt mod, and all the rest were only corrupted with no change.
