Music sometimes resets/loops prematurely causing a momentary burst of stutter?

I was just in the level 45 area before the Waterfall Cave in Act 2 and after entering the area and chatting on Global Chat for a while I noticed that the music had abruptly ended mid-song and started again. When it happened the game also exhibit a burst of stutter.

Have this sporadically in different areas all over the game, no clue what causes it. Soundcard issue? I'm using a Creative X-fi.
