Forum navigation problems.

I know you had been having problems since before christmas with the forums and this seems to be when this problem started for me, it did clear up for a short while but has re surfaced and i can't figure out why it's happening.

What seems to be happening for me is that i can browse the forum fine when i am logged out, can switch between and to and from sub forums through the index BUT as soon as i log in the forum decides i can only view general with any sort of speed to access the sub forum, anything else just sits loading for way way longer than it dose when logged out.

I use firefox, it's fully updated it has noscript and addblock instaled.
No script fully allows the site with nothing blocked.
I've tried disabling addblock and nothing changed.

I've cleared the cache, cleaned out temp files anything i could think of.

The only reason i'm posting it now is that i just replaced my hard drive, reinstaled the OS, and firefox(including the addons) and it's still happening.

dunno if adblock is blocking social media which ggg uses by default (other companies block it by default), i use ghostery for firefox for that.

additionally, adblock isn't blocking everything by default now, it has a list of "elite advertizment partners" which it doesn't block by default. you have to disable these partners in adblock's filter settings (there is a separate checkbox).

you can analyze yourself if the fault lies in ggg's servers or some advertizment or social media components.

if nothing helps there is firebug for firefox which imho also had the ability to show loading times of website components the last time i played around with it.

Like i said, i've turned addblock off and it's still the same.
Even then would it not effect the loading no matter if i was logged in or not? as this only happens when i log in.

Which version of Firefox? Does the problem persist if you start FF in safe mode? Is there any change if you log in via Steam?

The last time I had any problem loading these forums, all I had to do to fix it was clear the cache. Since you've done one-better by reinstalling everything on a new disk, I can't say that would help you here.

Firefox is running 35.01 which should be the latest version given i redownloaded and instaled it the other day.

Logging in through steam dose nothing to change the problem

i was suggesting blocking more adds, not less.

I don't think i could get any more blocked as i never see any, not on yahoo, not on youtube not on facebook or anywhere else i go.

Ohh, and no script blocks all the social media stuff if you want it to, which i have tried.

Didn't work :(

I'm wondering if it's anything to do with how the site saves drafts of posts...since it only happens when i log in.

I find on occasion that I have to go to the forum index and click the little "c" button marking that forum as read. It seems to speed things up. There's a slow running process for checking those forums for threads that can get really slow if you're too far behind.
