3 guys and a Garage!

I just stumbled across this video while trying to find some information on the history of path of exile development. I was not around for closed beta (I wish I was).

This game started life as 3 people in a garage? I find that really cool! so thought I would share for any one that is interested.

Ah thanks for posting this! I wish, I wish sooo much I had been part of the alpha/closed beta. But I held off.. gah I kick myself for it now.

You can actually feel the enthusiasm in Chris' voice and look. I really like those kind of videos showing how it all started. Some areas and skill effects were even better back then than they are now.

Having said those, i'll now take a moment and chill with primo

Goddamn i wish they kept some of these things.

The 2-hand sword leap slam = awesome animation back then, trusting the blade downwards into the ground on impact? Like hell yeah wtf :D!

The shields also looked a lot more robust and better suited for the environment.

The ledge gravel, epic environment feel from that imo.

And whats up with the scenes and voice stuff? Why was that not implemented into the core game? That oak video would be a solid win :).

But yeah very cool to watch this after so much time has passed, i sometimes watch some old gameplay video's of PoE to remind me from what it came :).

I was watching old streams the other day from around the time I joined the game and it was almost a nostalgia overload.

I kind of want to play version 0.2.0


It looks like a dungeon crawler from late 1990 to early 2000, and I love playing those still.
