Same here...I have tried everything. The patch will not apply

I have tried verifying cache data. Restarting Steam. Restarting PC. Running Steam as administrator.

Nothing works

This is freaking retarded!
Try having a look through the other threads:

Solved it. You have to let the Steam updater do the following:

a. Do not use start automatically when patch is done.
b. Let the patch finish... then wait.
c. A secondary patch will happen that will take much longer.

When THAT is done start your game.

This is weird and a problem but I think it will help you.

I believe last time users were reporting this issue was due to only the archive (Content.ggppk) being patched yet not files in the normal file system.

That being said: Here is a copy of the current (1.3.1c) binaries. Extract to your PoE installation folder and launch PathOfExile.exe (ie., the normal way, without Steam)

Just gonna download the non steam version
I have that on my laptop but I recently got a new rig yesterday so my brother gave me the steam version to back up and it worked. Just can't patch which sucks. If a solution presents itself before my download that'd be great xD

Sorry about this. As far as we can tell it is just Steam being a bit slow to push the new patch out to all their servers. If you do grab the stand alone client you can copy the Content.ggpk file out of your Steam install to save yourself most of the download.

With default install paths this would mean copying:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Path of Exile\Content.ggpk

to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\Content.ggpk

after installing the stand alone client, but before patching.

Yeah already doing that but thanks for the reply why? Any ETA on the problem fix with Steam?

Seems to be working from my end, I just got home and downloaded/applied the patch via Steam.

Whether that indicates that the problem is resolved, I am not sure.

Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years.

Best of luck in the future!

It will be working for some, and not for others, depending on whether the Steam servers local to you have updated. Unfortunately we have no estimate of when this will be fully resolved. Your best bet is to try "Verify integrity of game cache..." in Steam to try to force the update, but this will still depend on whether your local servers have updated.
You can change download server in steam options!

Steam>Settings>Download> Set region to UK-London works for me!
I had the same issue, I was in New Zealand region - but now the patch is downloading ~ 6hrs after it went live. Here's hoping it works!
