Was this MTR done while the issues were occuring? You've only got 45 packets here, thats nowhere near enough unfortunately to establish an idea of what/where the problems are occuring. There are no ping or lag spikes, nor any lost packets that I can see.
Might need to do this again, sorry. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 ==

yes, you do need it open while playing.
Even then i doubt it's latency related, when you encounter a boss it sounds like the game loads something that was not already preloaded which can be quite jarring. Pressing f1 will bring up latency, fps and frame latency meters you probbly nottice a large spike in frame latency and a large dip in FPS Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

yes i did have f1 on, sometime the latency goes up to 700+? i dont kno the exact number the its went high up in the box then a second later it calms back down to normal ping 30-40ms~
Also sometime the lag spike makes me dc back out to the login screen. here is the data, 3 hours of recording. some lag spikes when fighting bosses / elite / high texture areas. **fps and latency dropping at the sametime in those situations. |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | 192.168.0.1 - 0 | 11107 | 11107 | 0 | 0 | 42 | 0 | | 98.220.56.1 - 0 | 11102 | 11102 | 3 | 9 | 74 | 8 | |te-0-2-0-19-sur03.area4.il.chicago.comcast.net - 0 | 11103 | 11103 | 3 | 9 | 62 | 9 | |te-1-10-0-9-ar01.area4.il.chicago.comcast.net - 0 | 11103 | 11103 | 3 | 11 | 60 | 11 | |be-33491-cr01.350ecermak.il.ibone.comcast.net - 0 | 11101 | 11101 | 4 | 12 | 58 | 34 | |he-0-10-0-1-pe04.350ecermak.il.ibone.comcast.net - 0 | 11101 | 11101 | 4 | 10 | 53 | 9 | |xe-0-0-0.bbr01.eq01.chi01.networklayer.com - 1 | 11098 | 11097 | 4 | 10 | 196 | 10 | | ae20.bbr01.eq01.dal03.networklayer.com - 0 | 11102 | 11102 | 31 | 38 | 90 | 36 | | ae0.dar01.sr01.dal01.networklayer.com - 0 | 11100 | 11100 | 31 | 38 | 104 | 50 | | po1.fcr05.sr06.dal01.networklayer.com - 0 | 11102 | 11102 | 31 | 39 | 223 | 37 | | patch101.pathofexile.com - 0 | 11100 | 11100 | 32 | 37 | 86 | 38 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______| WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢀⣴⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⣶⣦⣄⣀⡀⣠⣾⡇⠀⠀⠀⠀

I had the same issues today when closing in on Act 3. Lots of spells and effects made it very laggy for me and difficult to complete. Personally I think my issue is the computer itself, might just not be able to handle such complexity in such a small area. Would be nice to be able to try this again without having to minimize my graphics settings.
Best of luck to you as well, I hear yeah out! | |
Thanks for redoing the test.
So you're not showing packet loss or major lag spikes (avg is good, worst is pretty good as well). I suspect what you're experiencing is FPS drops. Can you post a DxDiag in a spoiler, or give us a rundown of your PC specs, what settings you run the game at, and any other programs (especially internet browsers etc.) that you may be running during your play session. EDIT: You show a 1% PL in one hop, but it doesn't carry through the rest of the hops so is unlikely to be having any impact. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. i know my graphic card sucks ass and i also know that high texture overlapping is the main factor doing all the fps drops...but the thing is i don't get why my latency skyrocket when i'm fighting elites.
i have everything on lowest setting and nothing running in the background, not even antivirus.

The latency meter in-game is misleading.
It's not measuring the network connection to the server. It's measuring an approximate time to compute a timed packet. What that means is that Network Latency is only a fraction of the overall time. What happens is that you are sending packets to the server. The server then has to receive that packet and formulate a response. The server then sends that packet back to your client, where your client has to process the packet and then calculate the time between. Now, if your client for some reason becomes unresponsive (like locks up due to texture loading), the processing of this packet will become delayed. When the processing of the packet becomes delayed, the overall time to completion of that packet also becomes delayed, and looks like a network latency spike.... when it's actually not. If you check the meters and all graphs spike at the same time, it's not really a network latency problem. If you get a spike when your client freezes temporarily, then it's not a network latency problem. Make sense? |
