My ideas for new gems (espacially for wander)

Got some crazy ideas for new gems that I want to write in here. Some ideas I had while playing with a kinetic blast and think it is really fun, but here are some ideas for more specialised elem. wanders.

Rail Shot
Projectile, Lightning, Attack
A strong single shot that always pierces( so no chain, fork or return to player) and have a base + 100% projectile speed. Damage around 160% base damage + 60% converted to lightning damage (attack similar to the beam from the vaal oversoul)

Infernal seal
Attack, Projectile, AoE, Fire, Duration
A single projectile that marks a single target on hit. After a short duration or when a projectile hits the target, the mark explodes and ingnites the ground around the target dealing burning damage (similar to static blow, explosive arrow and poison arrow). If the mark gets triggered the burning ground will deal increased damage.

Blizzard shot
Attack, Projectile, Cold
A bit less creativity from my side, but similar to tornado shot but with more secondary projectiles (~10) dealing less damge (~30-50% Base damage).

Support gems

Channeling
spell, support
~30% less cast speed, ~50 % more spell damage

Focus
attack, support
~30% less attack speed, ~50 % more attack damage

The values for the gems are just ideas also if there should be a more/less modifier or a reduced/increased modifier

Rail-shot probably has way too much damage considering Wands get a 50% More damage modifier from the skill tree via the "% of phys damage added as elemental" nodes. I like the idea though, if you brought the damage below Power Siphon (Like, 110% or 100% of base damage) it would be pretty cool.

Infernal Seal also needs to be a thing, so there are more ways than Fire Trap to create the burning ground effect. This would be awesome for Flame Surge builds as a longer ranged alternative to Righteous Fire. Though I think the secondary explosion should do no base damage and just create the burning ground effect. It's AoE should be pretty small, but proc every time it hits something to promote the use of Pierce and Chain.

I think Blizzard shot would be interesting if it were a reversed version of Ice Spear, in that its first form cannot pierce but can be shotgunned and has increased Freeze chance but reduced damage (Not crit chance, Wands are already crit machines -,o) while it's second form has infinite piercing.

On the note of the reduced cast/attack speed gems, this would be fine for elemental damage but considering how Physical damage works it would be very OP since the more Physical damage you do with each attack the more Armour you ignore basically. Slap a 50% less Physical Damage ("Weapon attacks cannot deal physical damage" for the attack version) drawback on it and it would be really interesting though.

I like the ideas ^^ Wands do need a lot of work, they are a very interesting idea but their current gems have pointlessly high requirements and are not at all low-level friendly. I don't see why they couldn't be a Level 1 leveling option, and these new gems would be perfect for allowing that.

I really didn´t consider all those elemental wand passivs. So yeah you right those attacks should have a base damage slightly above 100 %.

The idea I had with the Infernal seal was also to f.e mark them with ranged attack totem with gmp and pierce and then trigger the mark with a high damage projectile so that the burning ground gets stronger when triggered. But your idea is also nice so you can create a burning inferno when a group of enemies comes at you.
And yeah the Base aoe damage would be fixed like the aoe damage of poison arrow is also fixed.

And for the support gems yeah i didnt consider how armor and phys damage works. Because I play at the moment with a fast caster on Torment, I thought that normally you have a lot of advantages when you just increase your attack/cast speed, and you do not really consider your basic damage output (f.e. elem buzzsaw, elem wander, all sort of coc builds). So a gem that reduces the attack/cast speed but increases the damage may be a way to strenghten slower builds. But i agree those two gems will surely need a lot of balancing. Adding those gems to the game would be easy cause they only play around with numbers, but they have to be balanced.
