Steam downsizes poe when receiving gift on steam

Yesterday I was in the middle of a boss fight when my poe downsized because I had received a gift on steam from a friend gifting me a game. Why on earth did this happen? Luckily I survived with 5-10% hp at level 79 in the few seconds I was defenseless.. But can someone explain this shit to me? I've been looking at steam and poe settings and can't figure out why it would happen. Or shall I expect to die at any moment in poe because someone sends me a gift on steam?

It likely has nothing to do with PoE and everything due to Steam notifications.
I get this same issue on any game I'm playing when my GeForce Experience tells me I have an update. Super annoying... but I don't blame the game, I blame the software causing the problem. |
