Questions about "Freeze", "+Maximum mana", "Breath of Rime" and "Throatseeker"

1. Does the 5% chance to freeze from the passive skill "Freeze" take effect only from hits with weapons or from frostspells too? If only from weapons, why do so many frost witch guide trees include this passive? For having freeze procs on wands?

2. Most guides don't grab those +maximum mana nodes, although they are all over the place near every path (left, right, and even top), whereas mana regeneration nodes are grabbed quite more often. As far as i know has regeneration a synergy with maximum mana. Does +maximum mana scale bad or what is the reason?

3. Is Breath of Rime only for PvP nice to have, is it not useful to have monsters chilled after frozen, is it just too far away or why doesn't any build consider getting some points in there?

3.1. The same question for the 3 chilling nodes on the left side of "Arcane potency"

4. Why have so many witch builds "Throatseeker" in it? As far as i understood, it's only a critical strike multiplier for hits, not for spells, since there are "critical strike multiplier FOR SPELLS" nodes too

Best regards
Stahl

Works on any kind of cold damage, so yes, spells are covered too. The duration depends on the damage dealt though, and less than 300ms is ignored if I recall correctly.

I'd say it's more of a preference, but mana is pretty easy to find on gear and if you got plenty of mana from gear, the extra from passives would be a waste. Increased damage is pretty much never a waste.

It's useful for mobs that don't die fast, but generally people aim to keep the mobs freezelocked to the point that the mob dies before it unfreezes. For this, crit chance and multiplier work better than.. well, pretty much anything else.

Throatseeker works on spells too. Only things that don't work for spells are nodes that say "increased critical chance with [weapon]" If a node says crit chance without specifying, it's global.
IGN: Jid
Max mana is used if you want to use more than 1 self buff(clarity), in terms of regeneration it's not very good.

I have about 36% worth cause of prerquisites and that allows me to use clarity-grace-tempest shield with maybe 100 mana left.

Thx alot guys!

It helped me to develop the perfect skill tree for me =)
