Noob Question...

Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my thread. I am downloading POE right now after taking a long break from gaming while my computer was dead. I noticed there are now PvP ladders, which I think is awesome!! My question is, do I have to make a new character on one of these ladders? Or can I use my old ones on the regular ladder and get PvP points?

Also does the PvP ladder reset? If I create a new character on the PvP ladder, will I have to make a new one next season? Is the PvP ladder FFA world PvP?
